What is the difference between these two thermostat models: Cadet T410B and the Honeywell CT410B1...

What is the difference between these two thermostat models: Cadet T410B and the Honeywell CT410B1017/01? The instruction manual appears the same thing, the model # seems close etc. I need to install very soon, the Honeywell is in stock at H.D. and Lowes, but the Cadet is a 10 day wait on order.
Asked by: J9392
Hello, thank you for your question! We market Honeywell thermostats so the T410B is the model number we sell that thermostat under. If the Honeywell model that's stocked at Home Depot is a line voltage 240/120 thermostat rated at 22 amps, then this would be an exact match and will work.

I have electric baseboard heat in my porch It is 240 volt with two black wires, two white wires, and a ground wire coming out of a box in the wall. H

The two blacks were wired to a single black wire on the previous single pole thermostat, and the two whites were wired to a single red wire on the thermostat. How do I connect these wires to the 4 leads coming out of the double pole thermostat?

It would seem you are describing the standard 12 volt furnace to room thermostat wiring. This thermostat is for an wall mounted electric heater. Stop and chat with a Home Depot person.

Can I use one thermostat in a room with 2 baseboard heaters?

I will be using hydronic electric baseboard heaters-- will these thermostats work with them and if i have 2 baseboard units in one room, can they be hooked up to just one thermostat? Thanks!
Asked by: Adrienne
Hi Adrienne and thanks for your question! Yes, you can definitely wire more than one heater to a thermostat you are installing in the one room. You will need to make sure that the combined amperage of the heaters does not exceed the amperage rating of the thermostat. The T410B double pole thermostat is rated for 22 amps so add up the amperage draw of your two heaters and if it's less than 22 amps then it will be fine.

I am quite pleased with this thermostat. I placed a thermometer next to it to check it for accuracy. The thermometer is always within a degree or two of the thermostat setting. The thermostat which I received looks exactly like the photo in the on-line representation, however, it does not have the word Cadet on the face and the packaging said Honeywell.

I bought this thermostat hoping that It would be an upgrade over the small "dial" version one built into my heater. After several weeks of use I am very disappointed. This thermostat kicks on - runs for several minutes - kicks off - then erratically within a few seconds kicks back on and off again. It is also about 8 to 9 degrees off vs the thermometer I have on the wall next to it. This thermostat appears to be inferior even to the cheaper built in thermostat that came with the heater. I would definitely not recommend based on my experience since installation. Maybe I got a lemon........ I don't know. It looks nice........, however, performance is less than satisfying. NOTE: I have this thermostat mounted on the wall about 8ft from the heater location and about 4 1/2 foot off the floor. It is not in the direct path of the heat flow so you would think it would be more accurate based on room environment and temp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good value This switch was used to replace a number of older (40 years) switches . They fit over the area occupied by the old switch (no wallpaper problems) and seem to be working just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The thermostat was a great choice for the price. The non-programmable thermostat was a great price and the color match to the baseboard heater was excellent. Installation was also very easy to follow from the enclosed instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, Good Value, Solidly Built I am very happy with this thermostat in its design and construction. It is also very easy to wire; works with 2- or 4- wire systems (use 2 or 4, your choice). Looks good, modern, and non-intrusive.
