Customer Questions & Answers

How do you turn it on or off?

Asked by: Pedro
Hello Pedro, thank you for your question! The Perfectoe model does not come with a thermostat so you will need to purchase and a wall thermostat or an built in thermostat separately. A option for a wall thermostat is model TH401. This is a digital thermostat and would keep most accurate temperatures with a 1 degree temperature differential. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Single-Pole-10-4-Amp-120-240-Volt-Digital-Electronic-Non-programmable-Wall-Thermostat-in-White-TH401/202563495 For a thermostat that can be installed on the unit, model UCT2B is our built in thermostat model for the Perfectoe, which wires into the front of the grill on the heater. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Perfectoe-Series-UC-Black-Double-Pole-Integral-22-Amp-Thermostat-Kit-UCT2B/202884435?keyword=uct2b

Can I paint the grill of the heater?

Neither Black Nor White matches my cabinets. Can I paint the grill of the heater? If so, can it be removed for painting? And what kind of paint do you recommend?
Asked by: CoolGen
It is not recommended to paint this grill.

is this a hard wire unit or a plug in ?

Asked by: nana
Well, it only had 2 wires coming off the motor with wire nuts on them. It is up to you and your local electrical codes if you need to have an outlet installed or a dedicated circuit for the unit. If you are going to plug it into an outlet, then yes, you will need to but a wire connector and hook it up yourself. If you do not know how to do that, it may be prudent to invest in an electrician. Figure an hour or two of time.

Can these be hardwired to an existing heating system's thermostat?

Can these be hardwired to an existing heating system's thermostat?
Asked by: Jim
Hello, thank you for your question! These can be hardwired to an existing heating systems thermostat as long as it's a line voltage 120 volt thermostat rated for the amount of amps you will be running on the thermostat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfectoe 1000 watt toe kick heater Compact. Well made. Easy to install. Attractive appearance. Works fine but doesn't put out quite as much heat As I expected. Maybe I should have installed a 240 volt unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love our Perfectoe Heaters? In 2013-2014 we built a new home. We wanted this home to be 100% right. While our previous homes all had central heat in the bathrooms there were always a few winter mornings that were cold because of the uneveness of central heat. We wanted the Perfecttoe heaters to be a supplemental source of heat in the bathrooms. We wanted somehthing we could turn on and take that chill out of the bathrooms. Winter of 2014 in New England was another record setter. We are so happy we installed Perfectoe heaters in all 3 bathrooms. We installed them with timer switches. They are the perfect addition to the bathrooms and have done exactly what we wanted them to do. We love them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little heater I wanted to supplement the HVAC heat going into my small 12x8 master bath, so I added this kick-space heater. It is for supplemental heat only, not trying to heat the whole room. Many products are wired for 220, but I only had a 110/115 circuit to wire it into. I was able to run a new 15amp circuit for this heater, and would suggest doing that to anyone. Keep in mind that if you run the heater and use a blow dryer on the same circuit, you may find yourself resetting the breaker from time to time. So, if possible, add a dedicated circuit for the heater. (yes, I had an electrician do that part.) I can't really testify to other characteristics, like, quality, durability, features, etc. It is simple to use - flip it ON or flip it OFF. Nothing to tough in that regard. The most challenging part was cutting out the toe-kick under the cabinet, and running the wire for its own circuit. I read some reviews that talked about a rattle, or a high noise level. I can only say that I did tape down the extra wire in the box during the hook-up steps, to keep the wire and the wire nuts from vibrating on anything and away form the motor. As for noise, it hums like a hair-dryer on a low setting. I did have to buy a Halex 3/4 in. Non-Metallic (NM) Twin-Screw Clamp Connector to run the Romex power cable into the box. These come in a pak of 5 and you only need one. I wish they would have just included it in the parts package, but what can I say.
