Hi Rhonda and thank you for your question.
We would recommend using the RM202 heater for your 245 square foot living room. You will need to first confirm that your power supply is 240 volt.

Answer:
Hi Fred and thanks for your question.
The RM162 model is rated for 240 volts. If this is a direct replacement then you will want another RM162 model.
The RM162 model will not work with a 120 volt power supply.

Answer:
This is the heater you are looking for. You just want to make sure that you have it configured for 900-watt output. The directions can be found in the owner's guide on page 4: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/95/950f7a6a-735f-48a7-a408-6ab64be619cc.pdf

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product / Tech Support If you're able to add a circuit breaker to your electrical panel on your own, this is an easy install. It took me a minute to wrap my head around installing a two pole 20 amp breaker with 12 gauge wire (always ran 240V with larger gauge), but that is all these heaters require in the amperage department, and 12 gauge wire is rated for 600 volts... so it is cheap and easy to run the wire. I put in the Cadet TH114 Digital Thermostat with it, and it works beautifully. The room holds a far more even temperature, rather than up and down with hot and cold. My family thinks the unit is quiet- certainly more than any space heater with a fan. The heater feels like a quality unit. It is well thought out- everything works together well; knock outs where they should be, room in the can for the wires, mounting screws and holes where they should be, etc. I'm about to order the identical set up for another bedroom. Also, I was concerned about just how cold it might get here in Montana and how I might handle it if I needed more heat (even though this unit throws a lot). I called tech support and spoke to Jordan (connected instantly, and he spoke English). The end result of that conversation is a great solution, if I need it- I can simply add another, smaller unit in parallel off the heater I just installed- so long as I stay beneath the rated watts/amps. That would be two heaters off one thermostat in a room. So I have some peace of mind now if I do need more heat due to a -20F winter. Overall I'm really happy with everything about this unit. Side note- the grill does get hot, as you would expect from a 2,250 watt heater, so if you have little ones they need to not be touching it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wall heater review I bought a wall heater and thermostat for it a number of months ago. It arrived on time as promised and I installed it easily. It runs a little differently then the old model but the old one was 10 plus years old. The thermostat has taken a little while to learn how to adjust it properly but both items have worked well over the winter. I would order another product from Cadet in a heart beat.
