Answer:
I believe you could do it if u connected it to a lighting contactor with a coil of the same voltage as your thermostat is running on the which would most likely require a 12v transformer.

Hi Doug and thank you for your question.
To use a Wifi thermostat with the Register heater you will need a line voltage thermostat rated for 1,600 watts. Do not use a low voltage thermostat with the Register heater.

Answer:
The Register Plus electric wall heater can use a line voltage wall thermostat designed for use with electric heating units. Please take a look at the accessories associated with this item, and select from any of the Cadet by Honeywell wall thermostats. You can choose from a basic bi-metal wall thermostat, or opt for a premium performance and comfort with an electronic wall thermostat.

Hi Alex and thank you for your question.
Cadet heaters are only approved for use with up to 10 gauge wire and a maximum of a 30 amp double pole breaker.
You can wire up to 2 of the 1,600 watt 240 volt register heaters on either a 20 amp double pole breaker using 12/2 wire with ground, or on a 30 amp double pole breaker using 10/2 wire with ground.

When wiring more than one heater to a single thermostat you will want to make sure the combined amperage of the heaters does not exceed the amp rating of the thermostat. Each 1,600 watt 240 heater will draw 6.7 amps. We would recommend using an electronic thermostat for the most precise and accurate temperature control. The TH114 double pole thermostat would be a great option for your application. It's rated at 16 amps which means you will need 2 thermostats to run 4 of the1,600 watt 240 volt Register heaters. Or the SoftHeat baseboard is a great quiet option because it does not operate using a fan. The SoftHeat baseboard comes in several different wattages that would work for your application.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy construction, quiet, and easy to install I installed this item on a remodel of our master bedroom. We had not installed the new sheet rock to it was easy for me to drill into the basement and run a new power cable into a double pole 20 amp breaker, which made the installation very quick on my end. I did set the heater up on two blocks to bring it up higher off the floor, almost a foot and a half. Wiring was simple, and the design will allow you to replace the heater if it goes out with minimal effort (no cutting of drywall). No sharp edges and very sturdy housing. It is very quiet, and when I turned it on for testing, it heats quickly. I imagine with the drywall around it, the noise it generates will be barely noticeable. Make sure you use a 220/240 thermostat for this product. March 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than Baseboard Heaters! I bought 2 and had to exchange one because it didn't work... but now I have them installed and they are working great! I hated baseboard heat and these are so much better on my electric bill! And they take up less space on the wall. They make it look like I have a central heating system when I don't... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cadet heaters I have 3heater on the list for recall. And replaced with new Is there a refund for the old ones October 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wall heater This was a replacement for a recalled unit and was a direct fit into the old housing, my old unit was only a 900w model but this one was multiple wattages so I installed it at the 1600w level. It is slightly noisier than the old unit but that may be because the wattage level requires the fan to run faster .Heats the bathroom up nicely . February 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Heat These heaters put out just the right amount needed. Having them adjustable is even more of a bonus. I was going for baseboard heat and the day they were delivered I tossed them in the car and purchased these. The size can't even be compared to the excessive length of baseboards. Very happy! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase! This is a great electric wall heater! It is also very quiet. I did not use the cover plate that came with it, because it was too small for the slot in my wall. I wanted to keep the old one anyway so it would match my other wall heaters. I purchased a Cadet thermostat which I did not need because this wall heater works just fine with my Dimplex one. (I didn't purchase a Dimplex wall heater because I couldn't find any that were the same size/kind as the one I had. I chose Cadet because it had good reviews here on the Home Depot site.) I had a professional handyman install it for me. We had to call Cadet for some questions, and they answered right away. It is also made in the USA in Washington state! I am very happy with this wall heater, and will purchase it again when my other wall heaters need to be replaced. October 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutley wonderful heater!!!!!!!!!!! Our home was bult in 93 and the company that sold the heater was no longer in existence. We searched high and low for this heater and was so surprised that Home Depot had it. It gives wonderful heat and I am very happy with this product. December 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent heater Though it's only been in a couple months, the heater seems like good quality. It doesn't run often and is pretty quiet when it does. Over all I'd say good heater for the price. YMMV December 10, 2014
