Customer Questions & Answers

Whats the difference between single pole & double pole

Asked by: Anonymous
Single pole means it doesn't have a complete off switch; double pole does. Since the one we replaced was single pole, we bought single pole. So if it gets colder than the lowest setting, it will turn on.

Can this be used to turn on a fan when the temperture reaches a certain point?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it can, as long and the fan does not require more than 240 volts / 22 amps.

Will this thermostat work as a replacement for an early 1960's GE thermostat that controlled heated coils in the ceiling

Asked by: Egolf
Hi Egolf and thank you for your question. The T410A single pole thermostat can replace most line voltage thermostats of the same amperage rating and voltage rating. This is a 2 wire thermostat rated for up to 22 amps and compatible with a 120 or 240 volt power supply. This thermostat is compatible with ceiling heat as long as the ceiling heat requires a line voltage thermostat and draws less than 22 amps. We recommend using a licensed electrician to determine the amp draw of your ceiling heat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not accurate Bought 4 of these. None seem to be calibrated from the factory. The instructions state set initial temp to 70 if after 2 hours temp is not satisfactory adjust. I would think the temp would be between 69 & 71 temp was off 5+ degrees. Would be ok to turn heat on and off and didn't care if it was accurate. I was afraid if I left cabin heat set on 40-45 it would not be accurate enough fo keep temp above freezing. Being an electrician I've installed many line voltage t-stats and never had had this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good Had to send 2 of these back Wouldn't bring the heat above 68 degrees Ended up buying a Lux: works as advertised

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, economical, well-made device. I needed a line voltage thermostat for a rather specialized project involving freeze protection. The wide temperature range of this unit was perfect. Mounting was easy and the unit's quality was very good. I'm very happy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Of the two I purchased, one works acceptably well One of these keeps a baseboard heater reasonably well controlled, but don't expect the numbers on the dial to mean the temperature of the room. The indicated temperature and actual temperature are about 10 degrees off. The second one was so far off I cannot make it turn the heat off if the temperature of the room is below 55 F. And once it comes on, it does not shut off until the room is much warmer. It has about a 15 degree glide between on and off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A flimsy product The thermostat arrived with a housing obviously broken during assembly, causing me misgivings regarding the length of time the unit would be serviceable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed. I had the help of a "Chat" with one of Home Depots tech assistance. With his assistance I was sure that this was what I needed. Installed easily and works Great!
