Rated 5 out of 5Â by warmerthanever Love this baseboard!
I've had Cadet's softheat hydronic electric baseboards in my house for 7 yrs and am really happy with them. They are far more efficient that regular baseboards and have paid for themselves over the years in utility savings. They are a bit slow to heat up, but once they are heating, they put out a smooth, even heat that has no 'edge' to it like regular baseboards do.
They tick a bit as they heat up, but it's not obnoxious, tis the sound of heat!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by mlkri Working well, happy overall, one caveat
Using this Cadet SoftHeat 59", 1000watt to heat a roughly 150 sq ft bathroom. The heat is warm and comfortable, works well for the space. Was installed by professionals, but seemed pretty straightforward, used the existing wall thermostat we had for old electric baseboard heat. We've only had it a month so I don't have any good comparisons for energy savings. The heat is good and it does seem to stay warm a good while when thermostat is no longer calling for heat. It has been very cold here, below freezing for several weeks now and the bathroom has been comfortable.
The "blade" is stationary, so there is no changing the direction of heat/air flow. This doesn't seem that big a thing as there is not a fan or anything it is basically radiating the warmth.
The one thing I had read while researching was someone complained about a loud ping/clank when it starts up. I didn't feel this would be an issue as we are used to the "pinging" of electric heaters as they warm up. However, in the early morning when this turns up it most certainly does clink rather loudly. Usually only once or twice and then either not again or I don't notice any other time during the day. I do wish it didn't do that, but it is no deal breaker for me and I would buy it again.
The other interesting thing was in the first couple days the unit was installed and working it gave of a smell that to me seemed to smell like maple syrup. Funny, it wore off after a couple days, but thought I'd mention it.
To sum - after use for a month, very happy, would purchase again, seems warmer than when the old baseboard was there. Only complaint would be that clink. I do not hear it every morning, so hopefully getting used to it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by dave great product.....read my review
i have a 2 story home unfourtenatly we never had great heat upstairs because of small duct work that was used. i eliminated and capped off all 4duct going up to my bedrooms and replaced them with hydronic baseboard heaters. WOW pretty much sums it up. very quit comfortable heat. by far the best heat i've ever felt. great great great product. i highly reccomend. my installation was a little expensive but other than that no complaints. i was also able to use digital wall thermostat which made it look that much better. thank youy homedepot for carrying this product. i used 2 1000watt hydronic heaters for my smaller bedrooms which measured around 150 square feet and for my bigger rooms which measured 200 square feet i used 2 one in each room 1500 watt hydronic heaters. only down fall is that i had to use 2 wall thermostats because each thermostat can only handle up to 3500 watt. so i wired 1 1000watt with 1 1500 watt to one thermostat and did the same with the other 2 rooms. good luck. my heating problems have been answered!!!!!
