Answer:
"Left Hand Wire" means that the wires used to connect the heater to the electrical wires in the wall, are on the left side of the heater. You have the option of purchasing a heater with the wires on the right side or the left side, for your convenience. We recommend that you purchase a Cadet brand thermostat, but if you choose to use another brand make sure it is a "Line Voltage" thermostat.

Answer:
The heater must be secured to the wall studs with two # 10 pan head type screws. A remote thermostat (recommended) or installed on heater end is required and not supplied.

Hello Laurie,
Your interest in the product and questions are both valued and appreciated. The Cadet SoftHeat hydronic baseboard heaters are permanent mount units that screw into the wood studs in the wall behind the heater. They are connected, or 'hard wired' to a 240 volt electrical power supply line. They are ETL approved to install only in this manner. On page 3 of the instruction link below, it shows where the wire connections are made inside the junction box:

You have several different options available for a thermostat as the unit does not come with one, but that allows you to make your own choice. The first related product item below installs right on the unit, and the other two are wall mount options that work equally well. Your best bet for energy savings will be one of the electronic wall models.
Thanks again for your questions and hope you enjoy our first weekend of Fall. Read Less

Answer:
Hi GBW and thank you for your question.
When wiring more than one SoftHeat baseboard, you will need to wire them in parallel and not daisy chain or in series.

Thank you for your question.
We recommend the TH115 programmable thermostat.

This is a 15 amp control. The 3 heaters noted above are approximately 11 amps and can all be controlled together with this thermostat.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hyponic 71 baseboard Definitely saved on the heat bill already but i bought this because the cheap electric baseboard heaters make so much noise it wakes me up at night.. This product was silent for the first week but now will make noise not as often as regular baseboard do to the way it cycles less frequently then regular but when it does it makes pretty loud knocking noise when cooling down.. Guess theres no such thing as a silent electric heater but like i said it is alot better and i saved like 50$ in first winter month electric bill February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Balanced Heat - Way less dust!! I have electric heat throughout my house. I began to replace my 45 year old electric registers with Cadet SoftHeat a few years ago. I like the smoothing out of heat/cold curve and the lack of dust. I have noticed my energy usage has dropped as well, but I can't solely credit that to Cadet as I've also replaced the thermostats for the units as well. March 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am thrilled to see you are building again in the US as the China units were a mess and terrible jobs of welding. I loved my Intertherm heaters, but about ready to give up on your heaters until I see they were building them again in the US, product look much better I hope it lasts like the Intertherm heaters did. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Work Great! The softheat units work great and were easy to install. March 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No installation holes, brackets, etc. This unit is exceptionally good looking. It was packed well and was shipped to my house without any problem. Wiring was simple as could be. My only gripe is that they didn't provide any mounting brackets, screws, or templates. I think this is by design, but they could have at least included two screws. I ended up drilling two holes into the back of the unit and running screws into studs. It was a minor inconvenience. December 11, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great value This product is very energy efficient. If you go with the next size bigger based on the square footage you will have to adjust your thermostat down due to the extra oil being heated. Overall very happy with this baseboard heater December 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick and easy installation. Home delivery a big help. This heater is a simple and efficient drop-in replacement for an existing heater and would be an easy installation for new construction. It operates silently and provides even heating for a 200 sq. ft. kitchen. I plan to buy another for the master bedroom but will have to special order the right hand wired model. April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase Got rid of my old baseboard heaters. The house is nice and warm again. The heat is very even and pleasant. The product was made in the USA, something that is important to me. Very pleased with purchase. February 12, 2013
