Answer:
No thermostat included. You will need one. We used the one we already had in the house and it works well. No need for a fancy one with on and off times programmed unless you want that.

Hello Laurie,
Your interest in the product and questions are both valued and appreciated. The Cadet SoftHeat hydronic baseboard heaters are permanent mount units that screw into the wood studs in the wall behind the heater. They are connected, or 'hard wired' to a 240 volt electrical power supply line. They are ETL approved to install only in this manner. On page 3 of the instruction link below, it shows where the wire connections are made inside the junction box:

You have several different options available for a thermostat as the unit does not come with one, but that allows you to make your own choice. The first related product item below installs right on the unit, and the other two are wall mount options that work equally well. Your best bet for energy savings will be one of the electronic wall models.
Thanks again for your questions and hope you enjoy our first weekend of Fall. Read Less

Answer:
Yes, you can wire two of these heaters to one thermostat as long as the thermostat is rated for 12.5 amps or higher. Also, you must wire these in parallel (each wires to the thermostat) instead of in a series.

Answer:
Hi jopacat,
Yes it is! And the other sizes in the Cadet SoftHeat baseboards with a right hand wiring configuration are also available. We've included an additional model as a related item.
The end cap thermostats are the same for either end too, just make sure you also get those in the white sand color. Thanks so much for asking!

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, efficient and effective SoftHeat hydronic electric baseboard heaters are easy to install, very quiet during operation and provide an efficient and effective heat source for all living spaces. Their appearance is also very nice. January 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet Heat The wiring was very easy and the 83" heater provides a nice amount of heat for a 250 sq ft room. The first startup burned off the factory byproducts which forced us to open some windows, but that was expected. The price is higher but this hydrophonic unit does not make noise like our other baseboard heaters. March 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well but watch for the electrical access. So far so good, but the electric bill will tell the real story. We bought two of these heaters to replace inefficient ones that were about 30 years old. The heating is quiet and does a good job for a large room with high ceilings. One thing we learned in this process is that the electrical access is side specific (only on the left hand side) and we needed a right hand one and a left hand one. We had expected the electrical access would be like the old one, access on both sides. It is not. The access is only on the left and you need to make a special purchase for one on the right. That is important to know. Check the electrical access before you buy and then order what is needed. We were fortunately able to re-route the electrical access without too much hassle, but don't make the mistake we made, it takes 10 minutes to install if electric is on the correct side, about an hour if it is on the other. Make your life easy. November 13, 2012
