Thank you for your question.
If you are looking at the front of the heater the left hand wiring will come out of the back on the left side and the right hand wiring will come out of the back on the right side.

I know that some 240v wiring uses a black and a red for hot, white for neutral + ground. As far as I can tell, this would not make any sense in this install because there would be no place to put the neutral (white) at the end (heater unit). Therefore, the equally common practice of using black and white for hot, no neutral + ground is the only approach that makes sense, correct?

Answer:
Thank you for your question! Yes you’re correct, Cadet heaters only require 2 hots and a ground for installation. You would only need 10/2 or 12/2 depending on the amount of amps the circuit would be drawing.

I understand that I can put three 1500-watt on a 30A breaker. Should I be concerned about the thermostat being rated 22A in this setup?

Answer:
Thank you for your question! Three 1500 watt heaters draw 18.8 amps so you can use a 22 amp thermostat to control all three heaters.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product I have these heaters all over my home. This is the second one I purchased this fall. The price went up $30. A bit much. January 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product This heater is well made and looks good. But most importantly, it provides a reliable and comfortable heat. October 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poorly Manufactured The 1500W Softheat heater arrived with the heating element not attached to the body of the heater. There were supposed to be 6 (I think) welds and none of them were solid. As soon as I lifted the body into place, the heating element fell out. I did a quick and dirty electrical fit to see if it even worked and it got hot, so I use a couple sheet-metal screws to hold the heating element in place before mounting it to the wall It works fine now, but I was very surprised with the shoddy workmanship and shocked that they (Cadet) would let something in this poor shape out the door. Do they even have QA/QC eyes on any of this stuff. Im not sure if I would recommend it or not. While it heats up well and has turned our 3-season sun room into a 4-season room, I am worried that it will not last. December 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We love it! I installed the heater in a short time. It works very well and is very quiet. After it shuts off it still has heat coming off of it for a little while. All you hear is a click once in a while when it comes on. All I did was fasten it to the wall, wire it up, turn on the power, turn thermostat to comfort level , and it is warm in the room where I put it. And it stays warm. December 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect!!!!!! I bought 3 referbished heaters so I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to get. They were boxed very well and when i opened them up they were in perfect condition. They heat very well too. I am using the heaters with the AUBE th106 thermostat which saves so much power as well, when the room gets up to temp the thermostat will either turn off or just trickle using up to a 1/5th the amount of electricity. Good buy!!! March 27, 2015
