There are not Numbers on the thermostat dial, just "notches". Does anyone know what the temperature range is for this heater (ex. 40 degrees up to 80 degrees and each notch equals 5 degree change?) , or how many degrees each "notch" represents?

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
The low setting is going to be right around 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the high is around 90 degree Fahrenheit. The notches on the thermostat do not represent increments of degrees.

Answer:
The Hot One electric garage heater is designed for use in a shop or garage. If you have a cold basement area that's a large space, we would recommend an electric in-wall heater that recesses into your wall. It will require a dedicated circuit for wiring, but won't require new ductwork, and takes up very little space.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works like a champ! Installed this in my 22'x32' garage/shop and for the first time the garage is a cozy place to hang out and make wood chips. Staying at a comfy 70 degrees with low settings. Well made, quiet and seems to be a quality made product. The only noise from it is the sound of the air being pushed. Fan comes on and off with heater. Mounted it sideways on the wall so the air can be redirected so as not to blow dust on projects when finishing. The bracket may need additional support for this application, it isn't designed for it and sags a little. November 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recommend It -- Good Product It helps heat up the whole garage quickly. Seems to be well built, all-metal construction. Easy to use. Dials and switches are good quality. The settings between the low and the high are good; once the garage warms up, I can easily switch it to low to keep it comfortable. I would recommend the heater to anyone. Really makes the garage comfortable to work in on the cold days. March 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best heater ever... I've been trying different methods of heating my 720 sg ft insulated detached garage. After much research, I purchased this heater hoping it would live up to the reviews. Just so you know, I've never written a review for any product...no matter how good they are. However, this week in Iowa, it's been below zero (-9) with wind-chills in the -20's...yes, these are below zero. Running this heater only, it keeps the garage around the 55 degree range. This is impressive. Who would have thought this little heater would do such a thing. It's well built, easy to move around and is very safe. So, I would highly recommend this heater without any hesitation. January 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cadet 4000 Watt heater Number one, The Hi-Lo switch is for the wattage not fan speed. The Auto function heats the coil without the fan coming on, to the point that it TRIPS the reset on the machine WITHOUT the fan coming on! You have to turn the fan to ON manually or the unit trips. EXAMPLE: I turn on LO and turn heat knob up, walk away thinking the fan will come ON its Auto after all right? Well smoking and tripping the reset (and getting the coil hot) is what Auto did on my unit. So use the auto to heat the coil for 65 seconds, then turn to ON the heater then blows nice hot air for a bit and then goes warm. BIG heater coil for a smaller unit, nothing else even comes close as far as surface area for heat exchange. HIGH quality unit BUT the functions and buttons are confusing, I was ready to ship this back and forget it! February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by safe heat this heater is in my workshop & it works great & is safe to work around. October 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Heater I have a well insulated double garage. It does a great job of warming the space. I really like the fact that it is so quiet. I hung from the supplied bracket near a 220 outlet. Works great March 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful heating unit I had to install a 220 volt line into my garage to power the heater. (No problem) The heater worked only a short time and the Fan Delay Relay failed. I called the manufacturer and was pleased with their help. They sent me a new part and I installed it. The heater has been working great ever since. Itis easy on the electrical cost also. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, Performs poorly! Fan blade rubs against housing and makes a very annoying noise. i messed with the fan to make it "fit" and it still rubs and scrapes. To fix, i installed the heater box upside down to the mounting brackets. Looks funny but is heats and doesn't drive me out of the garage. February 25, 2015
