Product Overview

Find the right Cadet electric heater for your needs

The durable Cadet 4,000-Watt Garage Heater requires a NEMA #6-20 240-Volt receptacle (not a standard 120-Volt outlet) to provide your garage or workshop with powerful warmth on cold days. It features 2 heat setting positions for versatility in either low or high wattages. It also offers a built-in fan-only switch that provides comfortable air circulation without producing heat during the summer months. Ideal for warming garages and workshops, with rugged construction.

  • 6 ft. cord with polarized plug requires NEMA #6-20 240-Volt receptacle; a standard 120-Volt outlet will not work to power this heater
  • 4,000-Watt premium utility heater at 240-Volt provides warmth for large, hard-to-heat areas like garages and workshops up to 600 sq. ft.
  • Rugged 20-Gauge steel construction, with a baked-on powder-coat paint finish for long-lasting wear
  • Built-in fan-only switch provides comfortable air circulation without heat
  • High-temperature safety feature turns heater off if normal operating temperature is exceeded
  • Sealed heating elements protected by metal sheathing and aluminum fins for durability
  • Factory equipped with a bracket for either wall mount or floor stand use
  • 2-pole thermostatic control offers positive off position
  • Includes bracket for wall mount or floor stand use
  • ETL Listed

Will this run on a dual 20amp breaker with 12/3 wire

Asked by: Erad
Hi Erad and thank you for your question. The Hot One 4,000 watt 240 volt heater needs to be plugged into a NEMA #6-20R, 20 amp, receptacle and should not be hard wired. Temperature setting Thermostat

There are not Numbers on the thermostat dial, just "notches". Does anyone know what the temperature range is for this heater (ex. 40 degrees up to 80 degrees and each notch equals 5 degree change?) , or how many degrees each "notch" represents?
Asked by: Cindi
Thank you for your question. The low setting is going to be right around 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the high is around 90 degree Fahrenheit. The notches on the thermostat do not represent increments of degrees.

Can this heater be used in a cold basement of a house ?

Asked by: kelsey
The Hot One electric garage heater is designed for use in a shop or garage. If you have a cold basement area that's a large space, we would recommend an electric in-wall heater that recesses into your wall. It will require a dedicated circuit for wiring, but won't require new ductwork, and takes up very little space. The Com-Pak Twin 4000W heater may be a good solution for you. It includes a built-in thermostat to simplify installation: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Com-Pak-Twin-4-000-Watt-240-Volt-Fan-Forced-In-Wall-Electric-Heater-in-White-CSTC402TW/100094225?keyword=cstc402TW

The Hot One 4000-Watt 240-Volt Electric Garage Portable Heater is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job! I bought the RCP402S right after building my wood shop in 2004, and the unit performs well after 13 years. My shop is 2970 cu. ft. I find I need to air blow out the dust occasionally, and just do it every other week. Highly recommend The Hot One.

I am waiting on a response to my question about the "Hot One" but for right now I am not impressed. I plugged the unit in yesterday and let it run on high for 1 1/2 hours in my garage. The outside temp was 34, the garage was 46, and after 1 1/2 hours the temp in the garage was still 46. I can hold my hand in the air blowing out of the unit and it barely feels warm. Even my 1500 watt unit with blower is a LOT hotter. Called Cadet and basically felt like I got the run around. Right now I am not impressed with the "Hot One."

(the first one was damaged beyond repair due to my fault) It heats my insulated 30'x22' garage with ease to a very comfortable 68-70 degrees and would keep it hotter if I wanted to. I definitely reccommend this heater.

I would get more heat output if I would have mounted a hair dryer on 2X4. must be broken. no one at the company right now to call to get help from. Thinking this thing is defective. It is 100% worthless and going to return it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't keep up I bought this hoping it could heat my 500 sq ft garage but it doesn't seem to be able to keep up and keep it warm so I'll prolly have to return it and find something else cause I expected more out of a $300.00 heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater I have used this heater to heat my house for the last 5 years. It has never failed me . It's a little noisy but it does the job with no problems. You won't be making a bad investment if you buy this heater.
