I had to modify it to fit my Charbroil grill I got from Costco about 9 years ago but it was an easy fix and works great.

Fits in my char-broil with only slight modification. Great way to add a feature normally found in more exspensive grills.
Check your ceramic elements for cracks before installing!
Also be sure this burner gets plenty of fresh air-flow and does not overheat. (open grates, lid open helps) Pushing this burner too hot will result in a backfire 'blowtorch' whoosing sound... So watch it and be safe!

Burner fits in my kenmore 4 burner (with small mod to the flame carrier / ignition channel that runs between the burners. I had to cut about 1/2 inch off the channel on each side of the gas port. That was a 10 minute fix.) The result.... Revitalized my 5 year old now junker grill. Great heat output. I can't imagine any upgrade to your grill for <$70 that could come anywhere close.

It's a great product. Just wish it were longer in size. It installs easily but I did have to make a minor adjustment to the tube that connects to the ignitor.

I purchased this sear burner to upgrade my stainless CharBroil Commercial, 4 burner grill. I chose to replace one of my burner tubes. The valve opening on the sear burner is the same as the standard burner tubes, so I knew it would have sufficient flow and fit my valves However, I had to open up the sheet metal of the grill to get it to fit. Once the oval hole was made round, the burner fit over the valve orifice just fine and it mounted securely inside the grill with no additional effort. I tried using a modified crossover tube to light it, but gas collects and it lights with a puff that way. I would highly recommend adding an ignitor or just using a handheld lighter to light the sear burner from the front and it won't puff so much when it lights.
It will sear 2 steaks at a time and it also works great for vegetables, because the adjustable factory valve regulates the output well. Once you sear your steaks, you can finish off with indirect heat. On my first try, I made 3 steaks a perfect medium rare.
If you are contemplating a new grill altogether because you want a sear burner, this product is a GREAT upgrade for an existing, good quality grill. You just need to be comfortable replacing one existing burner tube and grinding away some metal inside the grill case if your burner openings are too small.
