Product Overview

The Center Mark will help you find and mark hidden recessed lighting cans quickly, with no measuring. Just screw the Center Mark targets into your recessed can lights and install the drywall. When you’re ready to cut the hole, hold the Center Mark Locator magnet over the area where you think the receptacle is located. When it finds the receptacle, the magnets will snap precisely into place where the receptacle is located. Trace around the locator, cut, then install.

  • Kit includes center mark target locator and 2 center mark targets
  • Center mark targets lengthen and shorten so they can be used to cut out 4 in., 5 in., or 6 in. recessed light fixture openings
  • Works on drywall, plywood, particle board, tile and more
  • No more measuring and no risk of mis-measuring – just locate the receptacle, mark, cut and you’re done
  • Twice as easy as other receptacle locating methods because you only lift the drywall once
  • You can even use it as a stud finder

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Center mark locator Great tool works as advertised saved me a its of trial and error August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A steal at any price Excellent little tool for recessed lighting hole locating. Simple to use and dummy-proof. I use a Roto-zip, but occasionally get off the mark when I run into a joist or other obstacle. With this tool, you know where your cut should be. Only improvement would be to include a compass and/or a center hole in the locator (you can drill your own). You screw the inside piece into the light socket - it slides up or down to contact the drywall. The outside piece snaps right into place once you get close to where the fixture is. Then you use a compass or template to mark the cutout. Very easy and extremely accurate. December 20, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient - but poor quality -- worked for 6 can lights This is good way to install drywall over can lights in new construction. BUT... the quality is not great. The magnetic head broke off one of the posts before I made it through 6 can lights. They're convenient to use - just not robust. Certainly not for the pro user. April 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by makes it simple This product worked excellent. I found it worked best if you cut the center out first so you can see the side of the fixture and then just work your way around you will end up with perfect holes everytime. Loved it. December 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well worth the money, makes the job easier I had to sheet rock a 20x30' ceiling all by myself with the help of a lift. I had 11 recessed lights to cut out. This really made my life easier, and it was worth buying them for this single job. March 27, 2012
