Home ProjectCalc Do-It-Yourself Project Calculator is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but with a few exceptions, not necessary. I looked forward to using this to help me in my DIY endeavors. With the exception of calculating carpet footage and wallpaper need, I found that most of the calculations could be made, either on paper or on a simple calculator, which is part of the package. The package includes a rugged carrying case and the batteries are pre-installed. These batteries might be hard to get outside of the manufacturers website, as they are an odd size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Neat Good little calculator, mostly just another calculator with a few added functions, would be a lot better with a few more projects for wider use, but the ones on it word great, so would say for the average do it yourselfer would do ok makes a few things a little easier like number of bags of concrete needed or yards for larger projects, amount of paint is nice also. Said for Gardeners but nave not figured out what or how that would work, like for number of plants needed is the only thing I see but can do with any calculator. But is a good calculator just not much in the way of saving time on everyday shop or field use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Handy Overall it does just about anything I can think of regarding general home building, remodel and repair. I tried it against various projects I've recently done and it suggested the needed materials without fail.. The built in carry case is a big plus. I can throw it in my tool box and not worry about scratching the screen etc. If you just need a simple calculator to balance a ledger, check or do general math or balance your checkbook, it'll do it!!If if it has any draw back it'll take some time to learn all the functions without using the cheat sheet. But then it's not the units fault I'm not the most tech savvy.

Well here's one that can do just that, from tiles to carpet and paint to wallpaper, plus concrete, it figures it. feet of carpet by how wide the roll is. Tiles, carpet sq.or tiles by size = the number for the sq ft. After, you can take the sq ft or number of tiles and figure the cost, works with figure it by yards, feet, sq ft as well as how much paint needed. Works as a standard math calculator with memory and auto shut-off as well. A, Do-It-Yourselfers, Woodworkers, Hobbyists, Decorators and Gardeners tool it will help you design, apply, install and finish your improvements quick and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good calculator I had never seen a calculate similar to this. I was always using the older type. This calculator makes figuring home repair cost and materials much easier. All you have to do is enter dimensions along with what you are planning on doing. The calculator will tell you how much material is required along with the projected costs. This could be tile, carpet, concrete, wall paper, paint or board feet in lumber. It is difficult to use at first but once you understand the instructions it works fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from mixed feelings While this is a good quality calculator and will probably be very useful to someone who uses it often I don't think it is worth it for a casual user like myself. It's more complicated than i like. I did figure out how to use all the functions after half an hour of practicing different operations but I can get an app on my phone for $1.99 or for free that will do each type of operation and doesn't require any training. By the time I use it again I will have to re-practice the steps to make sure I am doing it correctly. This is advertised as a do it yourselfer calculator so I was expecting it to be more intuitive. For the pro this is a great tool. Its not much more expensive than a regular calculator so if you think you might want it you aren't risking much. There is a sturdy cover on an articulated hinge to protect the buttons and screen. The cover also holds the instruction manual. Sturdy enough to toss it in your toolbox. Adding and subtracting dimensions is by far the most useful for me so I will keep it in service just for this purpose.
