The California Air Tools 1675A compressor is wonderfully quiet, lightweight and transportable. Unfortunately, it gave me less than 2 hours of very light duty service before the motor shorted out. Don't expect a great fix on the C.A.T. warranty, mine came back with more problems.

My old PC air compressor took up too much space and was louder than a threshing machine.
I went looking for a quieter, smaller compressor. This California Air seemed to fit my needs.
The good. It is very quiet and takes up a smaller footprint. The not so good. Somewhat limited capacity, unloading tube seems kinda weak and looks like it could easily bend, break, or collapse..
It is near perfect for trim work, somewhat weak on having enough lungs to clean my garage floor, and unlikely has the gumption for a big framing nailer. That said, it fits my needs at this time. If I had it to do over again, I would opt for the one horsepower model. I was concerned that it would be too noisy, but after working with this 3/4 horse compressor....I would go with more horsepower as the larger engine is only a couple of decibels louder.

My 2 buddies stopped by to help me do a small framing job, when I plugged in the compressor, they both stopped talking, stared at it for a moment and then buddy 1 said "that's it??" while buddy 2 proceeded to take the ear plugs out of his ears, wrote down the compressor info and went to my computer to order one. Needless to say, it's really quiet (at least compared to every other compressor I've ever owned). Fills quickly, recovers pretty well for such a small tank even when driving 3" nails. Definitely recommend for someone who doesn't need a high capacity tank and is concerned with noise.

This is a great home air compressor. My wife uses it to blow off items that get dusty. I use it in the garage for tools and inflating tires, etc. It is so quiet my neighbors never know it Is in use. My old unit could be heard several houses away. Love the quietness!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JCPVAZ Does what it claims. Quiet and efficient
This replaced a big, 40 year old, tired compressor on wheels which was heavy and difficult to move around. This does the job I need and should be adequate for any homeowner. It has a small tank but recovers quickly and it is very quiet for an air compressor. I found the regulator a bit on the cheap side but did not need it so I took it off. Other than that, it seems to be a quality tool and it's really doing the job I need it to do. It's easy to take around to air-up tires and has enough tank capacity to get that job done without having to be plugged in.

I just got the compressor and the box was torn not from shipping as they put the original compressor box into another box for shipping , the compressor was used before or may be out for inspection but the foam was just a small pieces which is broken and the compressor have signs of use and wear , it still work fine but I'm not sure why they send it in this condition may be its refurbished I dunno , but it's really quiet and fell the tank in no time ... Really disappointed with how it looks , it's used not brand new
