The smoker is truly a set it and forget it experience. The digital meat probe makes this a can't fail smoker. My first try was a pork loin, it was moist and very flavorful with a beautiful smoke ring. The second was chicken parts....so good and tasty. Love my Campchef Smoker. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great wood fired oven as a smoker not so good This grill was very easy to assemble. Seems very well built There is a gap around the door that allows heat and smoke escape. Sealed with nomex gasket. Grill hold temps very nice and the removable ash cup is the best. The only complaint I have with this grill is the lack of smoke at the low and hi smoke settings. Grills smokes like a champ as it is building up to desired temp. Once there it pretty much stops smoking. I smoked a pork loin wrapped in bacon for 2 1/2 hours on HI smoke setting. When it was done the bacon had the color of it being cooked in an oven. I've tried different brands of pellets to remedy this problem, all with the same result. If you like a heavier smoke taste to your food and a nice smoke ring on your meats I would seek another product. March 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome value and great features! This unit is a great value for the money and does a great job smoking meat. I have only had it for a month or so, but the feature set on this is usually found only on more expensive units. I have smoked baby backs on this and they turned out great. I also smoked chicken quarters and they smoked wonderfully. I purchased the additional front tray for the unit as this is helpful when taking on and off meat. Having the cup on the bottom to remove the ash (which is very little) makes this unit easy to use instead of having to vacuum out the ash. Having a low smoke, high smoke setting makes smoking meat easy but it also has all the temp settings you could want. The built in meat thermometer works great to be able to check internal meat temperature without opening the lid. Let me say...this is a set it and forget it unit (unlike my old charcoal bullet smoker). Just rub, smoke, sauce and ENJOY! This unit makes it so easy...you'll have your guests asking for seconds, and thirds, and... April 8, 2015
