Customer Reviews

1,850 psi 1.35 GPM Electric Pressure Washer is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mid-range electric choice I am a screen printer and have gone through 4 cheap pressure washers in the past 5 years. I use my pressure washer sometimes 2-3 times a month for about 2 hours at a time. Decided it was time to invest in better quality... but the need of Electric is a must since I use this inside my basement. I didn't want to spend $1000+, so this at $400 was the best option. I have used it only once, but am very happy with it. Good pressure, better than the $80/100 versions. Built much sturdy than cheaper models. The handle did come damaged, but called the manufacture and she had a replacement part mailed to me the next week. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely built, easy to operate, and effective pressure washer for general cleaning chores around the house. I bought this is a gift for my Dad and was undecided between the more common "consumer" lines, and this "prosumer" unit. He had a Cambell Hausfeld consumer unit that has served well, but is starting to leak, so I decided to go this route. This unit is considerably more expensive, but is very simple and definitely more rugged. The induction motor runs quietly, but unlike the other style, it runs continuously, not just when the trigger is squeezed. The pump itself is beautifully made, and all connections are very accessible. The wand is the same as one would find on gas-powered units and seems to be of commercial quality. The cleaning power (GPM X PSI) is modest, but is just right for washing cars, decks, lawn furniture, Etc. When first started up, water squirted out of the detergent siphon connection... a bit alarming, but as soon as the pump was turned on, it stopped. i assume there is a check valve that needed pressure to properly close... no big deal. Also noteworthy is the fact that detergent is introduced via the siphon downstream of the pump, so potentially corrosive and damaging chemicals do not pass through the pump. This is not the case with the typical consumer machines. In all, nicely built, easy to operate, and effective pressure washer for general cleaning chores around the house. I would have given it 5 stars if it had a rubber high pressure hose like those on gas powered machines instead of the composite plastic which is stiff, and a bit of a pain to coil and maneuver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well-made, high quality, easy to use pressure washer This is a review of the Campbell Hausfeld CP5101 electric pressure washer. Build quality is very high. The unit is compact and built on a steel tubular frame. It uses an electric induction motor rather than the universal motor typically found on consumer units. This should last far longer. It is much quieter when operating. The pump is also high quality and similar in style to what is found on gas-powered units. It can be repaired and Campbell Hausfeld provides a full parts list. The gun is almost professional quality. There is a manual lock that can be used to disable the trigger to prevent accidents. The quick connect for the tip works easily and smoothly. The unit requires a standard 15 Amp 120V AC outlet. It draws 15 Amps, with a higher brief surge while starting. It works fine on a 15 Amp circuit but there must be nothing else consuming electricity on that branch (circuit breaker) while using the washer. A dedicated line is best. The CP5101 electric cable has an integral Ground Fault Condition Indicator (GFCI) for safety. It comes with a 35 foot power cable and a 25 foot high-pressure hose. You cannot use an electrical extension cord. A second 25 foot high-pressure extension hose may be used although it will not be able to use detergent. It took less than a half-hour to put together the handle frame, the tip holder, and the wand. They provide a clear manual in English, Spanish, and French. It is important to follow their directions for starting the unit. The pump should never be started dry. After connecting and turning on the water supply, activate the trigger so low-pressure water is flowing out the wand. WHILE letting the water continue to flow, turn on the unit. Once it is on you can of course release the trigger. The unit comes with only two tips - a black 65-degree low-pressure tip for spreading detergent and a yellow 15-degree high-pressure general cleaning tip. The CP5101 uses a standard 1/4-inch quick connector and any tips rated for about 2,000 PSI should be usable. At the suggestion of Campbell Hausfeld's helpful customer service people I ordered a BE Pressure set of four tips to have a red 0-degree and white 40-degree tip. I am ordering a green 25-degree tip from Campbell Hausfeld to see how it does. (The colors are standardized across manufacturers - probably a good safety feature since you know the angle by the color.) The yellow tip does very well even with no detergent on very dirty siding or pavement. Even the white 40-degree tip easily cleaned concrete of built-up green accumulation from trees. I've spent a total of about five hours cleaning siding and pavement. So far I have just used water and not bothered with any detergent. It works really well. This washer is way better than the typical ones sold in retail stores. Very highly recommended for an extremely well-made, high quality, easy-to-use pressure washer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, poor directions The power washer showed up on time. Packing was decent however a few smaller parts were found in the bottom of the box instead of in a closed bag. Directions are just OK. There is no finished pictures showing external hose connected. More importantly the picture and engine that showed was different from the model shipped to me. This could have been assembled in ten minutes rather than two days waiting to contact customer service. Only two spray tips come with it, and I need to order more. The larger tip has no power and is useless. The smaller tip looks to have the power of a decent low end gas model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality, not dependable I purchased this pressure washer to be used by a screen-printing college class. The washer survived about three weeks of use and then completely stopped functioning. The motor would still turn on, though no pressurized water would come out. I knew this unit was not top of the line, though I was hoping it wasn't this far down the line. I would not recommend this product as three weeks of use is completely unsatisfactory for a four hundred dollar pressure washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it! The unit arrived quickly and required little assembly. The instructions were not clear on which way to mount the garden hose fixture, so at first I did it backwards, causing water to squirt out when I turned the machine on. That's my only complaint. I am half-way through my deck which is full of algae and it works like a charm. I've been running the unit about an hour at a time and no overheat problems at all, like many other units. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor manufacturing quality control and poor local service When I order the Cambell Hausfield power washer on the Home Depot web site, everything when smooth. It showed up quicker than I expected and was in good condition. I assembled the unit with no problems. About 2 weeks later, I was ready to power wash my large deck in preparation for re-staining. I brushed on Behr premium stripper and fired up the power washer. The water passed through the power washer (with the motor running) but no boost in pressure. I contacted technical services (1-800 number) and was instructed to use a vinegar and vegetable oil cleaning and lubrication process. I followed the instructions and fired up the power washer but still no success with the pressure washer. The motor only made a humming sound. I then took the power washer into the authorized service representative in Madison, WI. The authorized service representative told me that they were very busy with their customers and it would be a couple of weeks before they could look at my power washer. The representative further stated that if I had bought the power washer from them rather than a big box store, they would be able to work on it right away. Its been almost 3 weeks and still no repaired power washer.
