Running a DA sander for an extended period made for a LOT of water coming out of the tool. Finally invested in a filter and settled on this one. I've used the sander several times since I've installed the filter and the compressor has run for an hour straight several times. I would say that it has cut the amount of water coming out of the tool by 98%. There's still a little water that comes out, but it's nothing like it was pre-filter.
******I will say, however, that at the same time I installed this filter I also installed approximately 30' of 1" steel pipe. From my research I knew that the filter performed best as close to the tool as possible. Well, in this case that's simply not possible. I needed the filter right by the compressor, before my air hose reel. To compensate for this I wound up running 4' of steel vertical pipe up through the ceiling into the attic where it 90s to a 10' horizontal stick, where it 90s again to another 10' horizontal stick that slopes downward and back towards the compressor and then 90s down to a vertical 4' stick and on the end of this pipe is where the filter is. So my filter is still next to the hose reel, but there is ~30' of pipe between it and the compressor. Bottom line is the filter is working exactly as I'd hoped ON MY SETUP; your results may vary/may not work at all if you don't have enough pipe/line before the filter to allow the air to cool before it gets to the filter. Read online if you don't know what I'm talking about.*****

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RetPilot Cheap drain valve; leaked fresh from the box
The small plastic drain valve is sloppy; of low quality with poor tolerances. It leaked right out of the box, no matter what I did to try to stop it. Returning it to HD store where I bought it, with the atendant brass connectors and will be wary of Campbel Hausfeld products despite being a longtime owner of other items from them.

Just bought and installed it for my 60 Gal compressor (155 psi max). Haven't used it much. No leak, looks sturdy and works fine to me.

Good filter, however you have to come up with your own mounting system. It would be much better if it came with a mounting bracket.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Razorhorn Exceeded my needs - great value
I needed a filter that would flow the air volume necessary to drive my Ingersoll Rand impact wrench, which is the highest volume tool I use in my home workshop. The specs on this filter met the need and for the price, I figured I would give it a try. I have not been disappointed. The filter does exactly what it's supposed to do. I am very picky about air leaks anywhere in my system, and this installed painlessly with absolutely no leaks.
