I've been a Capture believer since 1995. One must have the "Pre-Mist" solution AND this dry powder. I never liked shampooing carpets, where the pad gets wet as well, Capture is a DRY cleaner. Vacuum, mist, and sprinkle powder. Brush just to mix the two, and vacuum when dry (about 30 min). No harsh chemicals or odors.
I LOVE IT !

Does a great job ,,easy to use, works just as advertised. Suggest you use pre-cleaner and let dry thoroughly and then vacuum. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Takes a bit of work to brush the powder into the carpet, but effective on those stains I didn't even know were there. Took a horrible odor out and now the house just smells fresh. Next time I will get a wider brush to make it go faster.

I really like this stuff - it is a polymer compound that really does grab onto dirt when rubbed into the carpet. You just vacuum it up to remove the dirty powder.
We have a dog, cat, birds, chickens, three teens and our rugs get really dirty.
My only issue is that it is hard to 'agitate' the powder down into the rug - I have an older Berber rug and some of the fibers get matted. The Brush which comes with the kit is pretty useless - it is a scrub brush and tends to fuzz up carpet fibers. On really bad areas, I've been known to get down on the rug with a large comb to work the powder into the rug. I wouldn't do this, unless it really worked well. I do have an upright Bissell too, but this stuff works better, somehow.

I like this stuff and have been using it for several years. I find it works far better than a wet cleaner. Getting it down evenly is a challenge though. I usually get it down by broadcasting it. ( I envision something like a small size lawn spreader might work better.) Once on the carpet, I rub it in with a broom (brush on a handle type). This permits me to apply deep into the heavy traffic areas and add more cleaner as needed to cover. Wait several hours (3-5) then vacuum. The carpet looks bright, soft, clean and is odorless.

This is the greatest product I have ever used in mylife. I
have off white carpeting now but used to have silver. It
was recommended to me by my friend. I have been using
it for over 10 years. I also have 2 cats and a dog. I do the
usual patches as needed but for the animal spots I do them immediately and it is absolutely amazing how they come off. I also used it on a few chairs and amazingly they came beautifully clean. Some friends thought I bought a new chair. There is no bad smell and is safe for
us and our animals. Thumbs way up.

I used this product to clean a sofa that had a notice that it should be dry cleaned only. I pre-misted it first to dampen a bit, and worked in the powder with a softer brush than they included with the kit, because that one seemed a little abrasive for fabric. The results were great: The oily, matted down fibers were cleaned and lifted and the the sofa looks nearly new. I can't imagine needing to replace it until the fabric actually wears through or rips.

I have used the Capture Carpet cleaning products for years and it does a great job but I find that Home Depot is way out of line on pricing compared to most . Shop this product before you buy you will save a lot of $$$$$
