Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product did not description I ordered SC100RR old work boxes. These six packs contained SC100R boxes. Very close in design but they are different. Normally not a big deal so we decided to use these. Within a few minutes I was getting calls from my installers that there was a problem with the boxes. When inserted into the wall and the tech tried to tighten the screws they were extremely hard to turn. So hard that the screw heads were stripping out. Never had this problem before with old work boxes. I ended up returning 18 of the 20 packs I purchased for a refund and then bought the SC100RR in single packs. These were no issue to install just cost a little bit extra. June 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works ok, no major issue The product does what it says. So overall I am happy with it. 2 comments that I will make about how it was designed. 1. The template used to cut the hole in the wall is too large. Why waste making a paper template and cut it out? I have used others that bascially have you trace the outline of the box on the wall and then cut, and it ends up being perfect size, nice and snug. This template was way oversized. 2. The screws used to pull the wings of the box snug with the drywall are terrible, they can't cut plastic and the head of them doesn't fit a P2 screw driver head very well. Either use pre-thread plastic, or better quality screw. January 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works- It's simple--perfect for low voltage wiring. A simple device. Made more than sturdily enough for its purpose. The plastic is not too thick even for an Arlington salesman to fit all the wires he or she needs through this box ;) . And, of course, it does have stops to catch the wings when you tighten them--you don't have to put your fingers in the wall space and hold them while you tighten. That's just silly. These are at a good price at Homedepot. Too-soft vinyl versions of these outlet frames will warp out of shape when you torque the screws. These don't do that. It works, it's inexpensive. What is there to honestly complain about? September 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use this item is very simplistic. use the holes to mark the corners of the hole you have to cut in between the stud bay. cut the sheetrock and insert this into the hole and tighten the screws. snake the wires and your done. January 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very simple to use Works fine all the time when you have to put the item May 6, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work so well Tabs spin as you turn the screws, I had to hold them with my fingers to secure it. You have to be so precice with the cutout because of the small overlap January 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I won't be buying this brand again ... These are the worst LV1 trim inserts I've ever used - there is no way to keep the wings from spinning around like other brands, so when I installed a couple of these in my home I had to reach into the drywall and hold the wing while I screwed the philips head screws tight. Also, they are heavier plastic than other brands so if you have a lot of wires there is less room to work with, flexibility is an issue. I would recommend buying Arlington's low voltage rings instead, they are much better - we use them at work and I haven't had any issues like I did with these. To be fair, the model listed here is different from my Carlon packaging. I bought B100R(6 pack is B6), same or similar product description just the wings were blue instead of orange on mine. I did like that they came with a cut-out template, in case you don't have one handy, and the price on them was not terrible. November 18, 2011
