How loud is the blower

How loud is the blower
Asked by: vinnied
All blowers and fans on the stove are extremely quiet. The loudest noise produced by the stove during operation is the plinking of pellets as they are fed into the firepot.

Do I have to use sealer at the first piece of pipe to meet stove output???

I used the sealer on All pipe connections. There's plenty in one tube to do so and it's just a sensible thing to do.

Does this stove need the air intake vented to the outside of the house?

Asked by: keith
No, the intake does not need to be vented to the outside of the house. However some building codes do require it, specifically for mobile homes. The installation instructions provide some detail on this.

1,500 sq. ft. Pellet Stove with 40 lb. Hopper and Auto Ignition is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my application A very good value and free shipping to my local store. This stove is really easy to use: after hook up, fill with pellets and simply hit the "on" button! It self-ignites, and shuts itself off if it runs out of pellets. It has 5 different heat levels (or use automatic temp sensor) and is programmable to run at certain times of day or night---you can have a different schedule for each day of the week. The blowers are quiet too, much quieter than my last stove.

I run it on low most of the time but when it got down to the low teens for temperatures I had to turn it up to the #2 setting. It is easy to clean and does a nice job of heating my 1500sq' mobile home. With outside temps running between 10º F and 32º F I have been using about 1 bag of pellets a day. On the #2 setting a little more than that. I clean out the holes in the little fire box at least once a day. Just turn it off, wait for the fan to stop, brush any fly ashes down into the ash pan, wipe the window off with a paper towel, and then poke the holes out with a large nail. (the little fire box just lifts out)

Installed in a finished walkout basement and keeps the space nice and warm. Heats up quickly and regulates based on settings I used. As other reviews mentioned there is not a thermostatic control that will shut down the stove when at temp. You really have to use the Weekly/Daily timer settings to regulate when the stove is on or off to get the temp to the level you want. Or, just use manual to to the stove on and off when you want. The temp setting doesn't do anything other than regulate the flow of pellets and air. On the temp setting, the stove is always on and always burning pellets. I find it will get too warm in the space I am heating on this setting.

This is our second stove and now that the warranty is out buying parts out of pocket because even though the first stove had mfg defects the warranty only follows the first stove. Second stove no better I have to keep paying for parts that they say they will reimburse but since we can't get it to burn more than 15 and sometimes smokes a lot too! We are still out the money. Nobody comes to your house so be prepared to fix it your self. NOT HAPPY at all

We have not heard any thing more from Home Depot, however, a very nice & helpful woman from the Castle Company in WI did call us back, her name was Bonnie and she is sending some parts for my husband to install. My husband was informed that once he receives them, she will walk him through the process of installing them. Just this little bit of help & courtesy goes a very long way. Unfortunately Home Depot settlement dept. still has not responded. I am giving this stove four stars right now just because of the response we received from Castle and when it was running properly, this little stove could throw out the heat..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from We returned this in 3 days :(( It's a very pretty stove for sure but if temperature control is important to you then this will not do for you. We wanted a stove you can set a room temperature at and the stove would turn off and on as needed on it own however this one does not do that. This one basically has to be manually turned on and turned off, so leaving it on while your gone and hoping it will turn off when your room reached 75 probably won't do that. The blower will turn down for you but it never turnes off. I really wished this stove had a true auto temp thermostat cause it's so petty and takes up little space, I wanted to just live with the fact we have to babysit this but my husband was not so concerned about looks, he refused to have a stove that does not turn on and all the way off on its own. So darn you castle stove for not making this beutiful stove with a true auto room temperature control thermostat.
