I paid $69 + tax I believe in 2015. It's of fair quality, not bad, not amazing, but for the price I think it's great value. Fits just right on my 27in diameter fire pit I built.
It's metal so just realize if you don't want it to rust cover it up when not in use. It does have a coating, but I'm guessing that's only going to protect it for about a year unless you take precautions.
I would recommend this to anyone who has the right size fire pit and doesn't want a frilly spark screen.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AlyCo10 Great purchase!
Easy to put together! It's got some weight to it and the pieces are a bit bulky, but I was able to put it together by myself in less than 10 mins before my husband got home. It fit our fire pit great! And because of it's weight I have no concern that it'll get blown away or even moved with our southern Nevada wind gusts.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Navydave At long last, exactly what I was looking for
So I finally built my backyard fire pit, but wanted to ensure the sparks didn't go everywhere. Although there was nothing similar to what I needed in store, a very helpful associate looked online and guided me to the HD website. Less than a week later it was on my doorstep. Overall quality was excellent. If there was anything I'd improve it would be the quality of the assembly instructions. The illustration was mimeographed and difficult to make out, and the description was poorly translated into English from Chinese. Still, fairly simple to figure out once I threw away the directions and just looked at the parts.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill NOT flimsy, and provides easy access
Having recently built a fire pit, I knew I would need a screen in the highly volatile fire region of southern California. This screen fit the bill perfectly.
It is NOT flimsy, has a fair amount of weight. Either side flips up for easy access. The handles do get warm but not too hot to touch. Just be sure to measure the diameter of your pit to get the right size screen as different sizes are available.
Assembly was easy, but following the instructions. The materials are adequate but I feel the screen holes are a bit too large as some embers do pass thru. With annual maintenance i.e. wire brush, hi-temp paint etc. this screen should last a few years...we'll see.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 0519 Great Purchase...Very Happy
I have purchase similar products from other companies over the years...and this one seems to be the best yet.
We like the ability to open one half of the screen and the ones from other companies seemed to be out of shape and not perfectly shaped to easily open the screen. This one opens without any effort...makes it easy to make S'mores with the grandchildren.
Very Happy with this purchase.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BostonBoy Not as Described
I purchased this because the dimensions said it is 28 3/4 wide x 27 1/2, I put it together after waiting over a week for delivery it really is 30" wide by 26 1/2 . one half of screen is smalller than other because it opens into larger side, which is evident in picture, too bad it is not the size they say it is....Now I have to take it apart, put each piece back in plastic, box it up and drive to store for return, and start all over looking for one thats really 28 or 29 " round....

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SerialRenovator Functional but lacks style, and hard to remove when hot
Basically a half-sphere when assembled. It would probably look good on a massive stone fire pit, but for a metal firepit on a stand, this cover just overwhelms the appearance with a large mechanical-looking cover that is visually larger than the base. Construction is fine and assembly is easy. It's hard to remove this when hot, so not a good match if you want to do that.
