Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by barbieb BEST FIRE PIT EVER!!!
We purchased this fire pit last spring and love it. It is now fall and still going very strong. Constructed very well and we see it lasting longer than any other fire pit we have ever owned. Even decided to purchase one for my daughter and her family for them to use for their large Halloween Party as every time she has come to our home has commented on how much she liked this fire pit.
Most firepits are light weight and cheaply constructed .... but not this one .... this is a purchase worth every penny. We enjoy fires every weekend and when ever company comes .... we all have enjoyed very much.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HappyCampers Heavy and Rustic Exactly what I wanted!!!!!
I looked high and low for a large capacity heavy fire pit. The reason I say heavy is that my 12 year old can pick up the other firepit I purchased on her own. Needless to say, I returned the other 40 lb pit to the high end nursery I purchased it at.
I wanted a rustic fire pit that had the capacity to burn large logs. The kind of camp fire pit feel that you can build raging fires and enjoy S'Mores. You can add a round grill to the top. The Weber large round (purchased at Home Depot for under $20) fits perfectly on the inter-ledge. My husband loves that feature.
I definitely would recommend. I am a very picky buyer. I bought at the Home Depot in Pleasanton, CA.

I knew I needed a new fire pit. I started researching online back in the spring and going to see anything that got my attention. I'm off all summer so I do a LOT of fires weekends spring & fall and then at least 3-4 times a week during the summer. Reading dimensions and seeing them is a big difference. This thing is HUGE compared to so many that I looked at. I finally purchased this beast this weekend and am sooooo happy. It has a hole in the bottom for drainage, the cauldron is cast iron (manageable thickness and weight) and the steel base gives it appeal. I was able to burn nice, large hunks of wood instead of small splits... spent more time enjoying the fire & my friends and less time playing pyro. I got great responses all weekend. Because it sits lower, you can see & chat with everyone around it. The little cutouts are a bonus. It sits low to the ground. Common sense: use a firesafe base with any firepit. It's for outside so if the stupid thing rusts, it should be expected and I don't care. I bought it for bringing people together, enjoying the warmth and having a good time... not yard art. I'm thinking about getting another one... for home.

This fire pit is the bomb!
Radiates a lot of heat and is substantial--not like the other cheap ones that rust out within a year.
We use this fire pit to keep us warm in the winter as we consume quality whiskey and cigars.

On the good side, this fireplace is made of heavy duty steel. But there are a couple downsides that make the ~$200 price too steep.
1) No drain hole in bottm. Even with the supplied plastic cover, rain enters and fills the bottom of the 'pot'. It is hard to dump out the standing water.
2) Surface rust appeared in less than one week! I had to lightly sand and paint with a high temperature paint to protect the metal from the enviroment.
