...to ease the job of snapping the long runners into place as you lock the tiles in. Run a piece of paper towel dipped in Mazola or Wesson or olive oil along the top edge of the vertical part of each runner just before you put it up. Be careful not to get the oil on the tiles with your fingertips - wipe your fingers well before touching surfaces of tiles. The runners will snap in fairly easily and can even be slid lengthways in the tracks. I say vegetable oil because I think WD-40 or other VOC lubricant might damage the PVC. I installed this product in my low-headroom basement in 2000 and feared the prospect of ever having to remove a tile. Did just that a couple days ago, and it was not hard but requires care not to damage friable tiles. I thought of the oil idea when putting tiles back up and it worked well - wish I had thought of it in 2000. I hope it will also make subsequent removal of tiles easier. (?)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DIYer Looks awesome
I bought 2 100 sq ft systems because I was starting out with a 170 sq ft room and then finish another room. I was easy to put up. A little flimsy at first but came together well. I was missing 3 top hangers from 1 kit but HD handled it were shipped to me within a week. It made my basement ceiling look awesome and mounted right to the joists.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don Looks great, easy to install
Easy to install, looks great! My walk-out finished basement has a 7'ceiling so a suspended ceiling would be too low for the sliding patio doors A friend recommended this system, (he had already installed two of them) and said they were super easy to install. He was right! Very happy with the results

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DIYer Great for covering textured ceilings
I used this product when I redid my lower level. The ceiling was drywall ceiling with a plaster texture on it which is very hard to repair. I was able to cut holes in the old ceiling for new lights and to run wires with out the headache of repairing the drywall. Since my heat\ac vents were in the old finished ceiling I bought 1" thick boards to frame around them so the covers would have something to mount to and to keep the air from getting between the old and new ceiling. The hardest part of the job was running the first row of top hanger so none of them ran through a light or vent. After that the rest was easy.
The one thing you need to watch is not to over tighten your screws since it will twist the top rail and make it hard to snap the bottom rail.
I bought this over 2 yrs ago when it was in stock at my local store so I did not have to buy this kit online and could only get what I need.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Ceiling system worked well
All went together as it should have and finished product looks good. The last few pieces were a bear to put in without damaging. I hope that I do not have to take the tiles down for any reason. Before starting, watch the video on YouTube, it helped a lot.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KonstructionKeith excellent product
This system is one of the best DIY products out there, very easy to install and looks as good as any drop ceiling you'll see. My client was very very happy with the end results and that it was quick and virtually a mess free job. Fast shipping too.
the dark spots in the photo are on the lens not the ceiling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greg This product helped me a lot!
Easy installation, it allowed me to install ceiling tiles in my basement without lowering of the ceiling (the typical hanging ceiling would have to be installed a few inches lower).
Thank you for fast shipment!
