IF you are considering a wall installation where there is limited contact with other things and no contact to abrasive cleaners or heat sources, then a wall installation should be fine. Read Less

The tile is not recommended for wall installation. It can not stand up to the wear and tear a kitchen wall would receive.

Installing Fleur de Lis panels over odd size acoustic tiles

I have a small hallway section with drop in acoustical tiles that I would like to cover with fleur de lis panels. Only 2 of the acoustical tiles are 2 ' x 2'. The rest are odd sizes including several 48" x 6" panels and a 32" x 24 " panel. For the sizes that are larger than 2' can I use the glue up method to cover the larger areas with 2 tiles trimmed to the appropriate size while using the drop in method for those that are standard 2' x 2' sizes?

Answer:
Your proposed solution would be one way to go about installing the Fleur-de-lis tiles. You would need some way to cover the joints between the glued tiles. HomeDepot.com has Ceilume Decorative Strips to match the tiles ( http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ceilume-24-in-x-1-in-Deco-Strips-Faux-Tin-Self-Adhesive-Decorative-Strips-25-Strips-Bundle-V3-DECOSTRP-PBR/203469255?keyword=ceilume+decorative+strips+tin Read More

Another way to install the Fleur-de-lis is to convert your ceiling into a 2x2 ceiling grid. Take a look at your existing ceiling grid; most grid is already slotted so you can create a 2x4 or 2x2 grid pattern. If your grid is pre-slotted, you can purchase 2' T's from Home Depot. Those T's will snap in to your existing grid allowing you to convert your grid. You may need tin snips to cut the T where it rests on the wall angle, but other than that your grid conversion shouldn't require any tools. Read Less

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks perfect for the space! We are fixing up an older home and when our entry way ceiling tiles needed to be replaced we couldn't find any so we decided to cover it with the copper ceiling tiles. It looks beautiful and fits in with the age of the home. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We Love These Tiles We used Fleur-de-lis Faux Copper Ceiling Tiles as the border tiles in our guest apartment. The copper finish goes great with the green in the room and really dresses up a rather boring space. It took us about a day to install the entire ceiling, and no special tools or skills were required (we're average DIYers). August 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product looks great Excellent coverup for the old white ceiling tiles. Product seems a little flimsy when first looked at and handled. But not so. Product was easily cut with scissors, it is plyable and easily installed. Needs to be glued to existing white tile so it doesn't droop. Over all I give this product an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Finish product looks absolutely incredible. October 27, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great finished, but materials & install quite frustrating & difficult I purchased these panels online for a Ceiling glue-up installation. Tried to do my homework with in-store stock panels, before my online purchase. Panels are quite expensive ($19.99/ea individually) and must buy in cases (6 per case=$109) online. Using the advertised panel size of 2 ft x 2 ft to calculate the number of panels needed to fill my specific ceiling area, i was quite irritated to find that the actual panel size after receiving product was only 23 7/8" x 23 7/8" instead of 24" x 24". In addition, some panels had rounded corners and some had square corners? Both of these surprises caused me setbacks. I had to refigure my install since the smaller dims when stacked up caused me to be several inches short of the target in both length & width. Moldings had to be installed to cover the unexpected shortages. Glue up on ceiling was another nightmare. The Ceilume directed Loctite PL adhesive didn't work as promised after ceiling prep. With panels falling off ceiling, had to go to plan B using 2-way tape with the adhesive, plus 3/8" staples along edges to ensure panels stayed on ceiling, until glue would set properly. The only great feature is that panels are very easy to trim using scissors or razor knife and they look like a million bucks, after installed. September 28, 2015
