Type L is thicker than type M, but even type M is rated at over one thousand PSI. And you would never reach that amount without some serious compressors and horsepower. Even the biggest mechanic and body shops never use anything close to these ranges. And most all air powered tools average around 90 PSI and painting at around 40 PSI. You could use Flo-guard CPVC and Flo-guard glue without the need for any primer and have air lines anywhere you want. Just glue the pipe and twist the fittings until you feel the tightening of the bond and then set in desired position could not be any easier. And you can plumb an entire house with this stuff. It works with both hot and cold water. However it only handles 100 PSI so be sure you have a pressure regulator that will not fail. Otherwise it might be cheaper just to install steel pipe or galvanized pipe and be cheaper than copper. However I would have to agree copper would be awesome if you can afford it and solder it like a pro. You would have the makings of one awesome air compressor setup.

I need to buy only 12 inches of this product, do I have to buy the whole pipe of 10 ft ? please advise.

Asked by: BUYER
Home Depot stores typically stock at least one shorter cut length of copper pipe for just such a situation . Go look in the plumbing section in the area immediately around where the 10 foot lengths of pipe are displayed . The short copper pipe sections are typically laying down with just the ends sticking out of a cubby hole, and they typically stock 1/2" and 3/4" sizes .
