Answer:
Although it can be used, the entire line would need to be changed as A/C systems use a slightly different diameter pipe. ie, 5/8 as compared to 3/4"
It does not match up to refrigeration piping.
In closing, it is not recommended.

Answer:
Type M tubing product is made for general plumbing and heating purposes, drainage waste, vent and other light pressure uses. Therefore, would not recommend it for air conditioning uses.

Answer:
For the actual gas line, black iron or flex (yellow) is recommended.
For the hot water lines, copper is recommended, preferably type L, as it is thicker than M and therefor last longer, and when properly installed, will handle higher pressures.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting Cerro with your product question. While type M tube can be used for general heating purposes, we would suggest using type L copper tube which is a better tube specifically for gas heating.

Thank you for contacting Cerro with your product inquiry. The difference is in the wall thickness of the pipe which changes how much pressure it can handle. The heavier-duty type L pipe is often used underground, and in domestic water service and distribution, fire protection, solar, fuel/fuel oil, HVAC, snow melting, compressed air, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and vacuum. Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Chinese Garbage!! Do not waste your money. Made the mistake of buying a couple hundred feet of 3/4" for a large job. The pipe was obviously manufactured out of spec because it is too big for my fittings. And no, it's not the fittings. I have a large supply of fittings from several sources and none of them fit properly. My cutter is sharp and I tighten it slowly. I've had to use a dead blow hammer to drive many of the fittings onto the pipe. I've tried filing the cut end, even put one piece on my bench grinder to actually put a taper on the cut end....once the coupling got past the taper it froze up. I put up with this for a couple of days until I needed to use a slip coupling. I was able to get the coupling onto one pipe but was unable to slip it back over the other pipe...it was locked up so tight I had to cut it off and redo a larger section as a result. Done with this garbage pipe..it's going back to HD today. This Chinese garbage has cost me more in rework and lost time than I gained by buying low-cost cheap pipe. My suggestion to anyone buying pipe from HD: take a hand full of your fittings to the store and see if they fit before buying the pipe. November 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value The pipe is straight, meets manufacturer specs and well made. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As expected / Go Copper! Not rocket science - just copper pipe. Works perfectly, stored in standup bins which keeps damage to minimum. Very consistent over hundreds of pieces. September 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Did the job Copper pipe for water system worked great. No damage due to improper storage (i.e. not dented.). February 5, 2013
