You can use a Cat5 connector with no problems. If you do you MIGHT encounter speed issues. Cat6 connectors are designed to maintain the twist ration that is demanded by high speed applications. That said, if you are using this in your home with standard internet service offered by the cable company, AT&T, or one of the satellite providers the Cat5 connector will work fine.

Thank you for contacting Cerro with your product question. It is recommended to use the CAT 6 connector and jack with the CAT 6 wire. This will allow for optimal performance.

Thank you for contacting Cerro with your product inquiry. Our Cat6 cable is rated for indoor use only. When using conduit there is always a chance for water to get inside and Cat6 CMR & CMP are not rated for exposure to moisture. An OSP communication cable would be suggested for use in conduit or direct burial.
