Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good price I used one roll for my house, seems good quality. From southwire website: Conductors: 1 - 18 AWG copper clad steel .040" Beware it is NOT solid copper. Compare to my cable company's cable which is solid copper. I will buy it again for the price, since there is not much choice for 500ft at this price range. If I knew I need 1000ft, I probably get 1000ft solid copper. June 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality at a good price This 500ft RG6 cable is high quality, at a great price. June 23, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware as other buyer said NOT SOLID COPPER conductor Price is just that. I bought the 500ft. RG6 Quad Shield assuming it was solid copper conductor, NOT clad steel. I'm running 300ft, fortunate in conduit outdoors. Am going to supplement this, rather than pull it out (keep as spare), and add RG6-U solid copper as it will be better for lower signal loss in longer distances. Do it once, do it right Dad taught me. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Came up a little short I purchased the 500ft roll because I needed 496ft. The rolls were not 500ft, they are only 495 which is distressing as I have a project that requires 4-99ft lengths. I am not able to complete the project until my next order comes in. January 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product, quality materials. Ran into a problem when I moved into newly remodeled older coax in any rooms! Cable installer showed up and had nothing to hook up to. I am not a professional installer, but a network engineer by trade, so some experience with pulling a cable or two. This cable pulls really easily, and is very stout when getting smalls snags. Slightly stiff and very well produced cladding. A ittle larger because of that fact, so if your home-running (like I did), you may need to drill more than one hole and do more pulling than you originally imagined. Technically, very robust, I didn't have the space to avoid a lot of interference points, had to run very close to power a lot, and I have great signal strength on all runs (about the longest being 150ft) Additionally, just know: Home Depot takes PayPal at the register, one of the only big box stores ive seen with that yet. I always seem to have a little extra cash in there from eBay sales, etc. and it was nice to just enter my phone number/pin and be on my way. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good cable cable company does not use solid copper, havnt since rg59, series 6 copper clad is all we use and there is nothing at all wrong with it you do not get anymore signal loss using this or solid copper just a fyi. April 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spool of Cable I will be useing this in a whole-house rewiring project later this year. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Cable pulls well, good signal quality. Yes it is CCS (copper clad steel) but that does not seem to impact the signal quality. The wire pulls good. Quality Compression connectors and the right tools make terminating these cables fairly easy. A company called Vextra apparently does make solid copper RG-6 wire (V621Q) no personal experience, but I may give it a go if I need more cable. June 15, 2014
