Will the door close when the "Enter" button on the remote key pad is pressed?

I had a Liftmaster opener at my last house, and got all of the accessories to make it a MyQ accessible door. One of the things I really liked about it, was when I had a contractor or service person go to the house, I could let them in with the MyQ app, but they could close the door behind themselves. All they had to do was simply press the "Enter" button on the keypad, and it closed. It wouldn't reopen without the code or the app, but they could close it when they left. I absolutely loved that feature. Will this system do the same thing?
Asked by: JWilliams
JWill, Yes the remote keypad will do exactly what you are asking. Just hit enter and the garage door will close without opening until the code is entered or the button is depressed on the keyfob or wall switch.

Can the Battery backup be deactivated at night for security purposes?

Asked by: silverfox
Just go to the keypad inside and hit the button for MENU, then go down to where it says DISABLE KEYPADS. I do this every night for extra security. Just make sure you turn enable them the next morning, or you will go out to your vehicle and close the garage door and the lights will blink at you, almost if they were saying: "Hey dummy, you forgot to turn me back on". LOL.

how does the backup battery recharge?

while the unit is in operation, how does the battery maintain charge
Asked by: Newport
By the opener being plugged into an 110v outlet. It contains internal voltage rectifier circuits that reduce the 110v AC down to 24V DC to charge the battery.

1-1/4 HPS Smartphone-Controlled Wi-Fi Belt Drive Garage Door Opener with Battery Backup and Ultra-Quiet Operation is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 410.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Quiet! We recently had the HD950WF installed by a professional. After having had a Craftsman chain driver opener, the difference is huge! This is by far the quietest and smoothest running opener we've ever owned. I do like the motion sensor on the light so when I open the kitchen door to the garage and have my hands full, the light comes on automatically. We are not completely computer illiterate but we have had difficulty getting connected to the wi-fi and using the app. We will continue to work on that though. We use our garage door far more often than our front door so the battery backup is a great added bonus. I would recommend this product for sure.

It's relatively quiet and has several useful features such as entry keypad, motion sensor lights, and a smartphone app to control the opener from anywhere. However, the product information is deceiving. It uses a newer version of Homelink that is incompatible with cars older than around 2013. You would need to buy a $25 compatibility device for it to work with older cars. For the price of this opener, it should've been included.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Instructions are lacking I just purchased this product and it took me 4 hours to install!! The instructions did not provide enough details on how to install and I'm still trying to figure out how to set-up the wifi. The product works fine but it would have been nice if the product came with better, more detailed instructions for the average consumer to install.

I can open with controller or my phone. It is SUPER quiet. Almost too quiet. I haven't figured out the NEST integration yet, but all in all 10/10. Had home depot install as well. Installer was great. Very professional and personable. Even greased up the door for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best garage door opener I have ever owned. Easy install and it runs extremely quiet. Ecerything works as advertised. As for power rating, they are honest. They stated the condition of the rating. This opener is a very well designed product and I love it. Hopefully, it will last many years.

I have had it about one year now and waited to review to see if any issues. Minus one star due to not great instruction otherwise would be 5 stars. The installation instructions are not the best but you are able to follow along. The set up of the WiFi is not very clear! You have to check to see if you have a good WiFi signal (Take a laptop, tablet or phone to location. try to connect. If good signal you are good. If not you will need to get a range extender for your WiFi or move location of wireless router.) in the mounting location or you will not be able to set up the Wifi. The device has many settings to be able to get alerts on your phone. Door open, closed. If open over a set time. The down side is you can not set up the lights to work remotely off of the app. This is a good and powerful unit, VERY quiet operation with a battery backup if power outage so you are not locked out. You can remotely open the garage. My daughter forgot keys at home, she called me and I opened the garage door from 22 miles away. You phone has to have internet connection or will not work. I highly recommend this product. a few weeks after install the internal control on wall went bad, turning itself on and then off. I called customer service and after I described what was happening and what I did to troubleshoot the issue they sent out a replacement which arrived a few days later. Unit still worked by phone app, car remotes and wireless keypad outside. Not a major issue.

I previously had Liftmaster chain drive garage door openers so the noise from the belt drive on the Chamberlain is barely noticeable. Chamberlain needs to offer this product for 8' doors. If you have an 8' door, you need to purchase an extension kit for it which means you'll have a 7' belt and extra parts hanging around which you probably will never use. It'd be much easier and efficient for the consumer if 8' door kit was offered off the shelf. Maybe Chamberlain offers it, but Home Depot doesn't carry it in store. Also, if you have an older vehicle with Homelink, you'll need to buy the compatibility bridge from Chamberlain if you want the Homelink system in your car to work. Or use the supplied garage remotes. That's what we did after trying unsuccessfully to get the Homelink to work without the compatibility bridge. We do love the following features of this opener: 1) very quiet 2) the wireless feature was easy to set up and the MyQ app works well which means you never have to question if you closed the garage door ever again 3) you can set the garage door to auto close if you'd like and 4) the battery back up feature for those days the power is out for one reason or another was a must have for us 5 )the wall opener has a motion detector so as soon as you open the garage door from the house, you have light and and it reads the garage temperature as well as the time of day 6) the wireless keypad is included and finally 7) all the openers were easy to program from the learn button

Our solid wood door is of the 500-lbs. or so variety but is properly balanced with torsion springs. Installation of this unit was easy. Instructions were a bit ambivalent just a couple of times so don't rush through the install (or maybe I just over-thought it). It would be nice if they explained setting belt tension better -- I'm used to adjusting/setting automotive and motorcycle belt slack but this gave no good parameters. Yeah, adjusted the tensioner "finger tight" but I've got strong hands so I was questioning if I was too tight or too loose because the belt rubs/slaps against the plastic sleeve on the trolley. The obstacle sensors, even when lit and apparently functioning, are sensitive to positioning. My door wouldn't go down even though it appeared that the sensors were lined up. However, the flashing lights and error message on the Smart Control Panel indicated that there was an obstruction...? I moved the receiver (green LED unit) up & down (along the Y-axis) to no avail and then noticed the retaining carriage bolt for it wasn't perfectly seated; once re-seated it was then aligned on the X-axis and the door operated as expected. The phone app (Android version) worked the first time and is FREE. Someone said you have to pay for it but they are wrong. Anyway, it's pretty dang cool and the on-line version lets you set up alerts and up/down schedules. The app also shows how long the door has been open or closed. The remote keypad also allows for a secondary PIN (e.g. for guest access) that can be used a programmed number of times OR for a programmed number of hours -- nice! The Smart Control Pad has a motion sensor to turn on the opener lights which everyone in my family likes. It also allows TTC (Time To Close) to be set if one wants the door to close automatically after a programmed number of minutes, however, it's disabled by default and our preference. The pad also shows the time and temperature. It's got a good, easy-to-use menu system. I was able to program our Touareg's HomeLink using the remote and the in-car info system instructions. Took several attempts but that's due to the poor instructions of VW, no fault of Chamberlain's. I use one of the remotes for my '95 VW. I tested the remote range and it's easily over 100'. The speed is a couple seconds faster than our old Genie and I found it very acceptable and, of course, is unbelievably quiet in comparison. The battery backup is simply icing on the cake for those rare times we have a power-outage.
