Bud, Yes there is one button close on the 940EV. Technically Chamberlain states that garage door openers manufactured prior to 2006 might not be able to utilize this feature. In my experience this is to the contrary. My LiftMaster Elite from 2004 is able to utilize the one button close feature. Simply press and hold the 1 & 9 buttons for 10 seconds. Thank you for your question Bud. The model 940EV Wireless Keyless entry does have the One Button close feature. This feature can be deactivated or activated by following directions on the included instruction manual. However, the One Button close feature cannot be activated on garage door openers made prior to 2006, or when programming to an external receiver.

Hi Mike! The Chamberlain Keyless entry model 940EBV is compatible with all Chamberlain garage door openers manufactured after 1993. However it will not be compatible with your Allistar Allstar garage door opener. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your garage door opener to obtain a compatible keyless entry.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 103 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and easy Took a total of 15 minutes to program it and mount it on my garage. Very easy to program and really like being able to hit just the enter key to close the garage door. You can even assign it a temporary pin - pretty good security on it. I knocked off a star for the value because it was kinda pricey - about 10 bucks more than a universal one. Bought this one because I was using this with a Chamberlain lift-master opener. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Garage Door Opener Now the garage has become more versatile as we use it more and more, before we had to keep taking shoes off and going through the house. When in use in the evening the key pad lights to illuminate the screen. Good Investment July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy device! So glad a friend talked me into getting this. Accessing the garage is simple now - I don't have to worry about locking myself out. Easy to hang. Directions for setting up the PIN, however, were not clear. But I found a video on Youtube that walked me through the process. There were 2 key steps missing in the directions: the garage door had to be closed, and the device had to be in the garage. July 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Still can't get it synced to my garage door opener Got this to go with new Chamberlain GD opener. I have tried to sync it with the opener and no luck. Customer service was not able to walk me thru it. would return but lost receipt. oh well. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So convenient to have I'm not sure why anyone would install a garage door opener without installing a remote key pad at the same time, but they did. This was first thing I changed when I moved in to my home. It was easy to install, possibly it would have been even easier if I had read the instructions correctly the first couple of attempts, but I kept skipping one of the steps. However, once I figured this out it was a snap. Mounting it to the outside door frame was very easy too. July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just Fair Connection to my opener was easy, but it inconsistently works. It sometimes works the first time you enter the code and press enter. Most of the time you either need to press enter a couple more times or enter the code again to get it to work. I bought this unit because I like its look and how the cover works. June 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Easy to install, could be a bit higher quality plastic outer case July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked like a charm! It worked on the first try! The garage door installer said he never install them that fast! I have a 19 year old Chamberlain Opener and he didn't think it would work. I'm very pleased! June 30, 2016
