Do I need a sensor for each car in a two-car garage?

Yes - single laser. Installing two is no big deal.

How far away from the garage door opener can this be mounted?

How far away from the garage door opener can this be mounted? i.e. What is the length of the wire on the laser parking assist? Our vehicles park well past the garage door opener. If the wires are too short, the angle of the laser will make it unable to point into the windshield and onto the dashboard.
Asked by: Anonymous
you have about 6 ft of wire but same wire as eye sensors so you may be able to extend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One less hassle Easy to install, helps me center the car in the garage and park without running into my wheelbarrow. Wish I would have gotten it sooner. I picked a spot in my dashboard and just watch to see that it's lined up with the beam. Much easier that trying to line up the car door with the garage wall or guessing if I'm pulled in far enough to clear the garage door. I bought a second one for my spouse!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs as promised Really good if used with the Chamberlain brand openers since it is integrated. The wiring is a little short so had to move it from where I wanted it. I have the kayaks stored in the top of the garage also. Someone complained about the light not being bright enough. If you have bright sunlight in your garage, this might be a problem. My garage faces South but the lot is treed so not a problem at all. When I walk into the garage with that vehicle outside, the light will then blink on the floor for a minute. That's an ok tradeoff compared to the golf ball I had hanging that my wife would align to the inside rear-view mirror to locate before. I'd bump or get tangled in that periodically. Plus I enjoy telling people that since the car has radar to assist with backing up, the least I could do was install laser parking guidance like they have on missiles. Was on sale for $16 with free pickup at store. A deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works pretty well Overall a good product. I was thinking the beam would be a bit brighter/bigger and be a solid stream. When activated, the beam pulses for 1 min; then shuts off. You just need to break the safety sensor beam for the laser to activate again. Although, this is better than other products I've seen and really integrates well with the Chamberlain opener.

Installs easily however, the laser beam is a dot which is difficult to see even when it is on a black dashboard. I recommended this product but would use judgement if personally recommending to a friend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Laser flashes The laser blinks instead of staying on solid. This is a negative for me as I find it harder to spot. That being said I like the fact it turns off and on when the door sensors detect something
