Hi elaine, thank you for your question. The motion sensr is not technically based off of motion, instead it actually uses infra red technology to locate heat signatures. If a cold gust of wind comes through, it is likely that the sensor will activate.

No. Not unless you hack into the system and attach it to a custom built circuit to control the lamp. The alarm will wake you up, and the LED also blinks. You can mute the alarm, but if you were asleep you would not see it blinking.

for the average person..the answer is no..you can't just plug a lamp into it..now if you are very technical and know how to read circuits, know how to solder and have the equipment..then nothing is out of the question..otherwise..leave it to a professional...you don't want to end up in the ER like Tim on Tool Time

No it does not but what a concept! Maybe you can use the "Clap Clap" device where you clap you hands and the light goes on or off. Just set it turn the light on when the base unit goes off. Not sure how to turn the light back off though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WORKS GREAT My husband installed the sensor at the end of the driveway and he said it was very easy to install. Just a few adjustments because it is close to the road. It works great, just as we hoped it would. We have a long driveway and it is so nice to know when someone is driving up. The range is just as they said it was. There have been a few false alarms. One was a spider building a web. Got rid of the spider and now it works great again. thank you for a wonderful product.. We would definitely recommend to others!!!!! June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this alarm I am happy with this product. It does a great job of letting me know that someone/something is on my property. When your house is well insulated, it is not always easy to hear that you have a visitor. It can take some adjustment to get it to pick up what you are trying to identify (distance, direction) but it is not difficult. I don't consider it expensive either for the service that it performs. We have multiple sensors on the property and they each "ding" differently to let you know where the person/animal is located. May 31, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by motion sensor with wireless motion alert The item has stopped working after only one week of installation. I will purchase the previous brand that functioned for more than 15 years, until receiver stopped functioning. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Great item really enjoy it for the house. Looking forward to buying more. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of the best I had tried several different types of motion alerts for our driveway. None of them were worth it. All of the false alerts were driving my wife and me crazy. First it was the sunlight ,then changes in temperature, then it was the wind blowing. I moved the old motion sensors to about fifty different locations to no avail. Then I purchased this system and as soon as I opened the box I knew this one was going to be different. I saw it came with a shield to protect against sunlight and weather. As soon as I installed it in my location of choice, the one that the others did not work in, I saw that it was going to work fine. All that day, there were no false alarms. The only alert was the mailman. I can't say enough about this item. I have had it for months now and no false alarms only legitimate alerts. I highly recommend this item. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just as advertised Have not installed yet as the old one is still working! April 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chamberlin motion sensor Good product easy to install just needs to be louder March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally a product that works as advertised.... After purchasing two other sensor brands that said they worked up to 400 feet....maybe 25 feet....I took a chance with this higher priced sensor. It's approximately 300 ft from the alert alarm in a direct line but with trees and a small shed in the line of sight. Well worth the extra cost. The only con I have is it doesn't always pick up a vehicle if they are going to fast. March 17, 2016
