Customer Questions & Answers

Can more than one SmartPhone use the app/program to open/close the door?

I don't care if the alerts only go to one email address/account. I need to know if my kids can also open/close the door with their SmartPhones? I would think yes, but since my wireless keypad & remotes don't work, I need to make sure we ALL have a way in. I know there is a MyQ compatible keypad and may invest in this if multiple SmartPhones can't control the door.
Yes, you shouldn't have a problem.

Does this work with iphone, android....both?

I have an iphone, but my husband has an Android. Will we both be able to use it on either phone?
Asked by: CoolMom
The box and all of the setup instructions are primarily based on iPhone. I am using an Android based Samsung Note 4, and I had no problems setting it up. Based on my experience, and other reviews, you both should be able to use the same login and password on both phones without any issues.

Can alerts be sent to multiple email addresses or text addresses?

Asked by: RMBCHOH
If you have a wink hub and account you can have it send alerts to multiple people. You can install the MyQ app on multiple phones and it will give a notification on each of them.

Can I still the existing remote in addition to the iphone app?

Hello, If I don't have iPhone on hand, can I still use the existing garage door( a Craftsman 1/2 HP model) remote to open/close the door? There is the key pad on the garage I use to manually open/close the door. -Will both these options be available or is it with iPhone only ? -Will it work with Craftsman 1/2 HP ? Thanks!

MyQ Universal Smartphone Garage Door Controller is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 207.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not stay online I've tried evry combinion/sugesstions from the site and the unit will not stay online. The IP address shows up on my router and I can ping the unit but the lights just keep on blinking. The unit is less than 50 feet from the router. Tested with my phone next to the unit and I have full bars. Would love to be able to use the unit but at this time I think I will eat my losses. Great idea but needs alot of work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great when it works failure rate too high, called my relative for help to open the doors for me once in a while. Yes, I got locked out after jogging at 11:30pm twice. Often, receiving fault alerts so I have to put a camera inside the garage for double check..... Recently, into the 2nd year, device could open the garage door, but doesn't close after beeping & flashing light....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garage Door opener I've have mine for about a year and a half and its worked flawlessly. I'm hoping the new firmware that will make it HomeKit compatible (as promised) will be released soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Completely unreliable - returning to store This product looked promising, but I will be returning it tomorrow. The hub connected to my wifi seamlessly, and I was able to add the door sensor and learn the opener's code with no trouble at all. I got everything mounted and tested opening and closing a few times from the app, and everything looked like it was working great. I put away my tools and then went to test it out again, and had nothing but problems. The app would say the door was open when it was closed, and closed when it was open, and then it stopped being able to operate the opener at all. I removed the sensor and went through the learning process again and it opened the door once before completely failing again. Im very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hub wifi connection, not Has become a joke I had the hub set up but had to change Wi-Fi routers and password. Now nothing will connect to the new home network. I reset the hub, forget the device on my phone over and over and all I get is green and blue blinking lights on the hub. Interesting that none of the videos from Chamberlain has posted explaining the installation go into detail regarding connecting the hub to the home network. they glossed right over all of that. iPhone 7 with very strong wifi at the hub location. Bluetooth doesn't locate the hub.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only one user! This garage door opener works and is easy to install. UNFORTUNATELY, you cannot set up guest users! I got this opener so that my kids can come and go HOWEVER, I do NOT want them to have the account login information or be able to make it so I don't receive notifications when the door is opened or closed. This also means I can't tell WHO is coming and going. Just that the door has been opened or closed. Great product, TERRIBLE software. Very disappointed.

Was so easy to set up that when the indicator lights changed from the blue blinking initiation light, I thought it was in error. It never asked to enter my wifi info. I did not mount on the supplied bracket, instead I stuffed it inside the garage door light housing. Total install time was 15-20 minutes. I honestly think this is under valued considering the other home automation products out there. The feature that I ended up really appreciating is that it records the how long the door has been closed, or open. This is a handy way to monitor how long a project has taken, or when I left the house. It makes a loud beeping noise and flashes a very bright led light if you shut the door via the app. I understand the safety aspect of this and why Chamberlain has this as a default, but wish there was a way to disable this in the setting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My Q false alerts The installation was extremely easy. The device does not work. I would get alerts at 4 am telling me my garage opened and closed. Sometimes when you try to use the app it wouldn't operate the garage door. Save your money this device is a piece of junk!! I'm taking mine down and hopefully get a refund.
