This was the first time installing a garage door opener for me; I have a second opener for my 2 car garage that was professionally installed, but decided to DIY this time. I also ordered the extension for an 8' door. I went along slowly over a weekend and the installation went nicely. The printed instructions could have been a bit better; I'm glad I had my other opener to refer to. I've been using the opener now for a few weeks and I am very satisfied so far with its quality. The new opener works as well as my other professionally installed one; in fact it runs a quieter. The 2 remotes and wireless keypad came with batteries installed and were pre-programmed to operate the unit. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mojo2186 Nice opener. Decent price.
Bought this unit to replace an old "LiftMaster". I believe Chamberlain makes them. This one bolted right in with no modifications needed. Used all existing hardware, so I have some spare parts if needed in the future. The only other thing I had to replace was the wall-mounted wired control unit, as my existing control wouldn't operate the new unit. That was a matter of two screws out and back in after swapping wires around. Total time from unboxing to testing all controllers was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The motor is less noisy than expected (this is a chain driven unit, so it's not quiet) was very easy to set up/down limits (taking about 1.5 - 2 minutes). The wireless outdoor keypad is very easy to mount and setup as well (taking about 5 minutes). Overall this was a very easy and quick project and I am happy with the purchase. Keep in mind that it was so quick for me because of the fact that I could use all of my existing hardware. 5 stars here

I bought this opener to replace an older 1/3 h.p. opener. It works flawlessly. It is much less noisy than the old opener, and the extras it has (compared to the old unit) just make it that much better. It was very simple to install, and took only about four hours. Although it would have been easier if I had had someone to help me, I was able to do it by myself. I especially like the outside keypad and the fact that if the door is open, walking into the garage will turn on the lights if they have turned off. Also, being able to control the lights on the opener with the wall switch is a great plus. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by brewmasterthis Much better than another brand
Initially bought and installed a G**** garage opener because it was compatible with my other garage opener's codedodger controller. The electronics and eyes on it were junk and I could not get to them to align. For some reason they also didn't like my pre-wired wiring. Returned it and got this Chamberlain after seeing all the positive reviews. The difference in design and quality is night and day. Love the ability to snap the electric eyes right onto the rails and it works with my existing wiring. It's not the quietest but I like hearing the vibration to let me know the garage is opening. You won't be disappointed with this opener. Be sure not to overtighten the chain - at first I thought I had another dud but it was all good after I adjusted it to the manual's specification.
If my other opener dies I'll be getting another one and happily toss the old one in the trash.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Texas001 No complaints against this unit.
Being a 73 year old man with back problems I tackled the installation of this unit. I first had to dismantle and remove the old Linear unit. Then using my McGiver instincts I made a pulley to raise the unit after completing the partial assembly and the rest was easy. Anyone can, if you have the slightest mechanical ability, put this unit into operation. The unit is very quiet and operates smoothly. For the money and ease of installation I would give the unit an A. Of course if it is not installed properly you may find some negative reviews in this section.

I replaced a Genie brand opener that was less than 9 years old. This product was easy to install even with the required extension for the 8 foot door. I also really liked that it has a light on the front and back of the unit which lights the overall garage much better than the previous unit. I have also found that this new unit is quieter than the previous opener. The feature that turns the light back on when you walk through the beam is also very nice if you have been outside working and are coming back in after dark.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DuginMT A great opener with all the features
Highly recommend this opener. It had the most features for the money. I installed it for my motorcycle shed and it works great, and the 200W lighting supplements the shed lighting. Didn't know if I would ever use the exterior wireless control panel but am finding out that I am using it frequently. Took about two hours to install and the only problem I had was lining up the electronic eyes properly the first time for it to function. Once I lined them up 5" off the floor, everything worked great. The upforce and downforce adjustments were very easy to make, along with programming the remotes. My remotes work about 150' away from the door, which is about right IMO. The chain drive is not too noisy and compliments my Harley shack. The instructions were good and not written by a Chinese translator. Great product!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AmatuerAtWork Nice Options for the Money
I was replacing another garage door opener by a different maker that had a strange habit of opening and locking open when the power fluctuated. The new Chamberlain was a little shorter on the track length but the door opens enough to get all my vehicles in. The Chamberlain also had nice options that I did not have before like manual control of the light. It operates nice and was pretty easy to install and adjust.
My installation took longer than anticipated because I had to remove the fittings, wires, motor, brackets, etc from the old garage door opener. I think removing the old parts took almost as long as the install. Over-all the installation was not too hard if you read the directions carefully.
