Are the light bulb easy/hard to replace and what type?

Can the bulbs be replaced without a lot of trouble?
Asked by: kiki
Using a foot stool the light cover snaps open and closed easily. it requires a standard size light bulb which can be any type: incandescent, CFL and even LED (the wireless system in this model has a rolling frequency activation to eliminate the occurrence of other devices obscuring the opener signal)

Does the keyless entry have to be installed? I don't want that feature.

Asked by: Evie
No, you don't have to use the keyless entry device. I didn't and my garage door works perfectly. The garage door opener company provides a third remote (wired), that is permanently installed on a wall for this purpose. There is really no need to install the keyless entry device.

I also needed two stationary remotes and two vehicle remotes. This model fit my needs and I was able to use the mount, eyes, chain and brackets that were already there. This made it an easy install as the new Chamberlain head fit right in with a few bolt reconfigurations on the chain rail. I now have new spare parts if I need them and programming the new remotes went smooth. My wife and I are happy with the purchase and wish we would have done this earlier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet, works well Just installed it, and works great. Quieter than the Genie I installed in the other bay a few years ago. Remote worked right out of these box with no learning (you still have to have the keypad "learn" your PIN). Very happy. One thing to watch out for on installation: the rail has a definite "up" side, which is not obvious and the instructions don't point out. If you happen to put the last piece (near the opener) on before you realize how the orientation is critical, you will need to remove that last piece, which is a chore. Other than that, the installation went well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected! Should have replaced my garage door opener with this Chamberlain opener years ago. Kept dealing with my old opener because I didn't look forward to the hassle of putting in a new one. Just followed the instructions. I am slow and deliberate so it took me one Sunday afternoon and I finished Monday after work. The longest part was running the control wires above the ceiling. The rest went together fairly easily. I was also concerned about the bracing as this opener track was longer than my old one so the unit was positioned forward of the old one by about 8 inches. There was plenty of bracing material packed with the unit so I was able to add it on to the old bracing and it looks and works just fine. This new unit runs smoothly and it is a chain unit. My wife mentioned how it sounds so much quieter than our old screw type opener. Very happy with how it went together and how it operates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install. Works Great The directions were very straight forward and the assembly was easy. I was replacing another Chamberlain opener and all of the mounting brackets from that opener worked for me, which was nice. I was able to program the remote pad and the remotes for the car but the Homelink in both of our cars, a 2008 Nissan and a 2010 Infinit both required a repeater to get the Homelink to work. My only complaint. I like that it has lights in both the front and the back of the opener and that it has a switch to just turn on the light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garage door opener Was easy to assemble. Didn't fit the same place where the other one was, but it was easy to adapt it. Came with everything needed to put in place (except some extra bolts). It is lightweight and feels like it has a lot of power. It took me around two and a half hour to put it and so far it work really good. I only have it for a 1 1/2 week, but it works really good. It makes some noise compare to the other one I had(Belt Drive), but for a chain drive is good/OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value Assembly and installation of this opener is very straight forward. There is no need to program the remotes to the system. The wireless keypad was a snap to programed. It has been a while since I purchased an opener and really the technological inprovements.
