Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tom3 Pretty dumb for a smart switch.
For a smart switch, this is pretty dumb. I really wanted to love this and for a time I did. I was using these for quite some time before I could get the garage door installed. Once I did I was even less happy with them. It’s depressing that I give them 5 stars on appearance, ease of installation, value and quality but overall rating is so low.
First of all it was very easy to setup, didn’t need a neutral wire from what I recall and it’s really great that they come with the keychain remote. That makes it a really great deal. I have 2 switches, each with a single 8.5 watt LED and the lights turn on and off without any issues. I mistakenly thought you could only program them to work with either the remote control or the garage door opener but you can do both. I have each switch setup to work with it’s own button on 4 different remotes as well as to operate with the garage door opener light. I can also turn the lights on or off and see their status using the web interface or the smartphone app on my android phone.
One of the big issues is you can’t program these lights to turn on and off on their own at set times like you can do with other switches like these. For over a year users have requested this from Chamberlain but nothing has come of it. Some people have been able to decipher the API and build their own work arounds but it looks like that ability has been removed.
It would have made a lot of sense to me to be able to program the lights to come on at dusk and maybe turn off at midnight but if I happen to be coming home very late at night when the lights are off they would come on when I open the garage door. Not an option.
The lights will always come on when you open or close the garage door. It could be the middle of the afternoon on a very bright, sunny day and the switches will still turn on. Not very smart.
Technically, the lights don’t come on when you open or close the garage door. They come on when the garage door opener lights come on. The garage door opener lights come on when you open or close the garage door and will shut off about 4-5 minutes later. When the lights on the garage door opener turn off, the paired switches will turn off as well.
The problem is that since the lights turn on with the garage door lights, if you’re in your garage working on something with the door closed, you might turn on the garage door opener lights via the control panel on the wall inside the garage. When you do that, the paired switches will turn on as well. So let’s say it’s the middle of a saturday and you want to do some work in your garage. Could be working on your car, changing the oil in your lawn mower, doing some woodworking, whatever. You want to keep the garage door closed so you turn on the lights on the garage door opener for extra light. The outside lights will turn on as well and you’ll waste electricity. If you have the switches setup to a button on a remote you can turn them off with the remove and leave the lights in the garage on but that’s annoying. Especially if you can’t see the lights from inside the garage.
Since the control panel has a motion sensor on it you could just walk into the garage from another part inside your home, the garage door control panel will sense your presence then turn on the garage door opener lights which will then turn on your exterior lights.
The sad thing is these switches are great in so many ways in terms of the actual switch. Where it fails is in the software outside the switch. The capability to have these switches work to their full potential is even there in the API but it’s been turned off. If Chamberlain doesn’t want to write the code to make these switches live up to their potential then they could just open up their API so other people can do the work for them. Would be great if these switches could work with the Wink Hub or IFTTT.
I was even trying to write my own simple controller that wouldn’t do any polling. At one point in the day it would check if the lights were off and if they were it would turn them on. Then in the morning if the lights were on, turn them off. Wasn’t able to because the part of the API to control the lights was either disabled or changed without documentation of the changes.
These could be so awesome if Chamberlain just let them be.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chicago Barely fit, but works great
The switch is relatively large in size, plus has lots of wires hanging out the back making it a tight squeeze in a normal switch opening. Once I jammed it in though, it worked great. Keep in mind that it requires about 10 minutes to charge up before the switch will operate the lights (the manual only mentions waiting 10 minutes to program the remote). The remote is fantastic. I am able to operate the lights from over 100 feet away with no issues.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tony Chamberlain Remote Light Switch
This is a great and very convenient product to have for turning on lights remotely. This works with any MyQ product including Liftmaster systems. I've purchased another remote switch and lamp controller to plus into the wall since. All work flawlessly.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JimmyG Does not work with Chamberlain Liftmaster
I purchased this hoping that it would "synch" with the garage door opener light on my Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door opener. That's the impression I got from the product description. Apparently it does synch up with "Chamberlain" door openers, but IT DOES NOT SYNCH WITH CHAMBERLAIN LIFTMASTER. I found this out after contacting Chamberlain. IMO, the product description is misleading and doesn't do what I wanted it to. It'll probably work fine if you have the right garage door opener, so that's why I'm recommending this product despite giving just one star, which is due to my profound disappointment with the product description.

Our entire family loves the convenience of the remote light switch. It was so easy to install. I wish it came with more remote controls. I will be ordering another one. The big downside of this product is that it will only control 300 watts. I will need to decrease the recommended size of the lights on either side of the garage so I won't go over the recommended wattage. It would be nice if they offered this product with two, three, etc. remotes because it's nice to have one in each car and also one in the house.

I bought this to allow me to turn the front porch light on and off from my car. I don't need to use the remote since my car has Homelink controls built into the rear view mirror. I was able to pair the remote and the mirror just fine in a few minutes. I like it enough I ordered a second one for the back yard light. I wish the paddle was a little bigger and the space below smaller. It would also help if they would mark "on" at the top and "off" at the bottom. That is actually a rocker switch and not a push-on, push-off button. Home Depot has the best price and a great reputation too.

My new shop is down hill below the house and I was looking for a remote switch that would merely allow me to turn on the front lights without fumbling in the dark to open the door. This product works even better because I can turn on the lights from the house, from inside, which is 280 ft away. Think I'll buy one for the house porch light so we can turn it on when we come up the driveway.
