The switch would be used outside on lanai but the electrical box with switch is around the corner of the house 25' away, RF should work, IR no.

Answer:
All garage opener use RF, and this does too which is why it has a full 300 - 600 foot range unlike WiFi products, probably at 390 MHz or 319 MHz. Enclose it in a plastic outdoor rated GFCI cover for safety.

Line of sight is not required and it works from relatively far distances, so it is probably RF. I'm able to turn on the lights in my backyard while standing in front of my brick house about 100' away.

Yes. The included fob is compatible with all MyQ enabled devices. I have mine installed to operate the light in my swimming pool and the panel it's in is about 25 feet from my house. I can turn the light on and off from inside the house.

I'd like a wall switch/remote for porch lights on the house, 30ft from garage. Will this unit interfere with my 2010 liftmaster garage door remote?

I would like clarification on the programming instructions. I'd hate the new remote to open my garage when all I want to do is turn on/off the porch lights (or vice versa). Also, it looks like just one remote comes with this. Are more remotes available for purchase? Item number please! Thanks in advance.

Even you pair, which is sounds like you do not want to do, you can still independently control it from the remote. It's is designed to turn on your overhead garage lights when the garage door opens. I have two 4" LED fixtures ($30-35 at Costco) to light up the garage so this would be a good fit if decide to upgrade it.

No, it will not affect the garage door unless you program the switch and the garage door opener on the same remote buttons.
The remote has 3 buttons to choose from.
There are additional remotes available. I have seen them on the shelf at home depot.

The controller works the same as all garage door openers work. They each have their own frequency and just like your garage door opener doesn’t open your neighbors door this will work the say way.

Answer:
Since each device (opener, light switch, etc.) operates with its own unique "code", which is why you have to put them in learn mode to pair them to the remote, you shouldn't have any problems. The switch comes with one remote fob but it's generic so you can use any Chamberlin compatible remote.
