Answer:
Hi MKS - Our universal receiver is compatible to garage door openers with a two terminal connection for the push button door control. It needs to connect to the common and command terminals. If you have this on your opener then this receiver will work with your Allister.

Answer:
If the opener has contacts that can be used with an ordinary doorbell button (e.g. mounted on the wall next to an interior door) then it should work. The device just provides a contact closure similar to someone pushing the doorbell button. You'll have to look at the existing opener wiring or user guide to see which terminal to connect the device's receiver to.

Hello Michael - This receiver works with any Chamberlain or LiftMaster garage door opener with a green, red or purple learn button. The learn button is located right above the hanging antenna wire on the motor head.

Answer:
I don't see any reason why it would not. It provides a "dry contact" electrical contact closure only, and plugs in, separately, to a non-switched wall outlet. You then wire the device to the terminals on your opener that would normally be connected to a doorbell type wall button. Essentially, all it does is push the door bell button when you wish the button in your car.

Chamberlain Universal garage door opener transmitter/receiver system

This question is from Universal Radio Control Replacement Kit
Asked by
Russ

November 14, 2011
I have an older Sears garage door opener. The remote transmitter has long disappeared, but the button on the receiver still operates the door in normal fashion. Can I replace the remote control system with model #955D remote control transmitter/receiver system? Can it be programmed into my GM car?

Answer:
This kit would replace the receiver in the opener and comes with one remote. If the GM built in transmitter speaks Security+ it should work. The instructions in the kit, as well as those in the car's manual should be able to get the two to talk.

Answer:
Yes on both counts. The 955D will replace your remote system and it can be programmed to your vehicle's remote control system.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install universal garage door remote The Chamberlain Universal Radio Control Replacement Kit was easy to install and had clear instructions. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by happy with purchase Door opener was very easy to install , works very well ! February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Remote for old door opener Had no remote for a very old but functioning door opener at my daughters house. This installed easily, paralleling the existing button. She was able to program the second button on the remote for her other garage door. February 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Works but range is extremely limited Had to hang the receiver from a power strip to extend the antennae enough for the remote to work. Even at that, have to drive all the way to nearly touching the garage door for the remote to work. Same with built-in transmitter in my car. February 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Garage opener control This item is the best! It replaced my old txm/rec and remote. Took longer to set up ladder than to replace. Easily program to unit. Works like a charm. Shopped around and this was a great buy online. My garage opener has to be at least 25 maybe 30 years old. Connected per directions, programmed and up and down it went. Love when I take my Harley out and when I return using the pad. Thanks Home Depot. Note: it does state in directions may not work with units to old. I gambled and it Worked December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfectly Purchased this 955D universal receiver for my daughter to replace a old 500LM receiver in a Raynor 120-7 garage door opener that had no wireless remote capability as part of the garage door opener. The remotes had dip switches that could be copied by someone else. My daughter lives in a condo unit with 48 garages; each having same setup. After installing 955D and removing completely 500LM and programming included 953D remote, unit works perfectly even from my daughter's 3rd floor bedroom window overlooking garages. February 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to, within limits I used this to upgrade an ancient GDO to HomeLink capability to accommodate a recent car purchase with built in HomeLink. Install was trouble free and setup using the car's instruction book was not a problem. The only issue I've encountered is limited range. That may be due to the car's transmitter or the placement of the receiver in the garage. That is still to be explored. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to do and is certainly cheaper and simpler than replacing the GDO. September 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great It was what I needed to replace on an old Sears opener. Good price. August 25, 2015
