No 953D available locally and I don't see one online. Tried a 953EV-P in multiple program modes, could not get it to work - should it? If not where do I get a 953D?

Answer:
I apologize that you are having a problem getting the 953EV-P to program. They program differently than the 953D. Here are the instructions to program to the 955. 1. Take the visor clip off and use the clip to press the program button on the back of the remote until the LED light on the front of the remote turns on
2. Press and release the learn button on the receiver.
3. Press and release the remote

Answer:
Hi MKS - Our universal receiver is compatible to garage door openers with a two terminal connection for the push button door control. It needs to connect to the common and command terminals. If you have this on your opener then this receiver will work with your Allister.

Answer:
If the opener has contacts that can be used with an ordinary doorbell button (e.g. mounted on the wall next to an interior door) then it should work. The device just provides a contact closure similar to someone pushing the doorbell button. You'll have to look at the existing opener wiring or user guide to see which terminal to connect the device's receiver to.

Hello Michael - This receiver works with any Chamberlain or LiftMaster garage door opener with a green, red or purple learn button. The learn button is located right above the hanging antenna wire on the motor head.

Answer:
I don't see any reason why it would not. It provides a "dry contact" electrical contact closure only, and plugs in, separately, to a non-switched wall outlet. You then wire the device to the terminals on your opener that would normally be connected to a doorbell type wall button. Essentially, all it does is push the door bell button when you wish the button in your car.

Chamberlain Universal garage door opener transmitter/receiver system

This question is from Universal Radio Control Replacement Kit
Asked by
Russ
Sussex, WI
November 14, 2011
I have an older Sears garage door opener. The remote transmitter has long disappeared, but the button on the receiver still operates the door in normal fashion. Can I replace the remote control system with model #955D remote control transmitter/receiver system? Can it be programmed into my GM car?

Answer:
This kit would replace the receiver in the opener and comes with one remote. If the GM built in transmitter speaks Security+ it should work. The instructions in the kit, as well as those in the car's manual should be able to get the two to talk.

Answer:
Yes on both counts. The 955D will replace your remote system and it can be programmed to your vehicle's remote control system.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works okay. Easy to install. Was fairly easy to install. Range is very low, don't know if it is the transmitter or due to the very short antenna on the receiver. July 12, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install universal garage door remote The Chamberlain Universal Radio Control Replacement Kit was easy to install and had clear instructions. May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Problems out of the box I purchased two of these units, one for each of my garage doors. They programed up real quick and was happy except for the range of the receiver transmitter combo. I relocated the receivers to the front of the garage between the two doors and still had range problems. I read for two days all the junk on the internet. I had steel doors but discounted that because I had steel doors with the old set up. I called Carlos at Tech support and he asked me to clear all of the codes and reprogram again. I did this thinking that he was just going through a flow chart. "Is the unit plugged in, are the wires tight" That was it, I have range out to the curb no problem. I am a radio hobbyist and know a few things about radio waves and did not think this would work but I did as I was told because I was asking for help. The only reason I did not give this unit 5 stars is because it did not work out of the box as expected. Chamberlain should have all codes clear so that you have to program them up for your installation. Many people on the inter web say that for security you should clear them anyway but for performance you should clear them. I would definitely RECOMMEND this product. July 19, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Remote for old door opener Had no remote for a very old but functioning door opener at my daughters house. This installed easily, paralleling the existing button. She was able to program the second button on the remote for her other garage door. February 23, 2016
