Well... You can install it by yourself like I did, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's a two person job even if the second helper just gets & hands the tools to you. The drive is very quite and fast to open the door. I used the old brackets to mount the motor as they were heavy constructed. Otherwise, plan on purchasing the additional mounting kit under $30.00. The brackets that are included are thin and lightweight.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by solar1 Nice and quiet
You will need to follow the directions carefully to complete this install but the results are worth it. I replaced an old screw drive with a belt drive and the improvement was amazing. The belt drive is very quiet. The new electronics add a lot of good features. I mainly like the Time To Close feature that closes the door after 10 minutes if I don't. Lots of other features you can choose from: battery backup, internet connect, etc. To install correctly you need to follow/ understand what the directions are saying. Measure twice, cut once. You will need to be a bit more than a novice to install this. Requires drilling in metal, wood. Careful measurement. Running low voltage electric wires. If you doubt your abilities get a garage door installer. DIYers will save about $200.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Primal Excellent Product
I installed this product a week ago. It is a handsome well designed unit.
--quiet and smooth operation
--additional lighting is nice
--can program remotes to turn lights on/off using one of the two smaller remote buttons
--wireless outside keypad is well designed and allows for a temporary additional guest PIN
--control panel (wall mounted) has smart basic settings for turning off/on motion sensor, setting auto door close options, a learn button (so you don't have to get on a ladder to push learn button on opener), lock button that disables remotes if you desire, and a light switch
Installation notes: I put the unit together in the family room over a few nights (2 hours). The only difficulty was the belt tension part as the instructions/diagrams need improvement. There is an "addendum" sheet to the manual for this part as I assume the part design changed. Not a big deal but Chamberlain needs to improve instructions on this component. Other instructions are very good. Installed on a Saturday morning removing old unit and installing new opener. This went very quickly (one hour) as I was able to use existing ceiling brackets. The wiring took a bit longer (3 hours). I had to run the supplied wiring for the sensors (climbing into attic, etc.) but was able to splice into some old wiring for the wall control.
Operation: Plugged unit in and everything worked perfectly. Adjusted travel of the door on one try and tested safety features. Put PIN in wireless keypad and it worked correctly on the first attempt. Remotes worked. Acura MDX homelink programmed right away. Not so lucky with the BMW but I am happy using one of the supplied remotes. I like the motion detector but it also turns the lights on during the day--maybe there is a fix for this but haven't found it as yet.
Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DrScop Quiet, smooth, decent speed, nice features, easy to program.
Owned for 1 month now. Operates great and Timer to Close is great. The original door opener replaced had a one piece chain rail. It was mounted at the rear of the motor and at the door mount pivot. I had to mount both front and back of the new motor unit to the ceiling as the sectional belt rail mount at the motor is not as strong as the solid rail opener it replaced. I had to take the weight off the belt rail as it was drooping a little with only mounts at each end. I also had to shorten the belt and belt rail which was easier than I hoped. The belt end clamps bend open and closed with pliers but are secure enough originally and once reclamped. Overall a nice product with smooth operation. Have not used MyQ.
