Answer:
Sorry, but it will not. This product is a motion sensor that will send a signal to a base unit and alert you with a chime and a light when motion is detected at the sensor. Many people use this unit to alert someone in the home when pedestrians or vechicles are coming up a long driveway.

Is the volume of the alarm's sound adjustable?

I need this for my elderly father so that the caregiver knows when he gets out of bed at night. The alarm needs to sound - but a modest sound would be adequate.

Answer:
Hi barb, the add on sensor itself will not have the volume controls. The kit which includes the sensor and base station will give you the control over volume that you require. I believe the volume to be enough to reach to an adjoining room but I wouldnt rely on hearing it from across the other end of the house.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Continuous Alarms I have used these products for many years . This year I ordered a new base and one sensor. The base linked up with my original sensors and with the new sensor however the new sensor gives continuous alarms. I had to remove it from its location and place one of my old sensors in its place. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sensor This is my third or fourth sensor! That says it all..... I keep replacing them when they die... after about 4 or 5 years! January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Critter Getter It gets 2 leggers 4 leggers 2 wheelers 4 wheelers and even 2 wingers. I have two, 1 on each driveway and with the option to have a different number of tones it works great to let you know with way the things are coming from. It is well worth having. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value Quick and easy to set up used to protect my chicken coops ordering and shipping was easy would recommend this product for many uses from livestock to security September 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Driveway Monitoring I have purchase the Driveway monitoring system with sensor plus added 3 additional sensors. I've found that I can be 10 ft away from any unit and if I move very slowly, I can get past the sensor without tripping the unit. After the unit trips once, it will not trip again for at lease 60 seconds. If one were to move very quickly through the monitoring area, the sensor doesn't trigger. I've been able to cross the path of the sensor in about 25 feet with normal walking speed and not trigger the sensors. Would be nice to have a third switch to select reset time to be fast or slow for re-trigger speed along with another for super sensitive and or a better processor to better identify IR from non to even the beginning of some instead of waiting till the one reaches the other side of the sensor before a trigger. Maybe you went too far the other way to reduce the false positives. September 2, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by False Positives I purchased the base+sensor, plus 3 more sensors. I was hoping that I could set them up along my long driveway to know if someone was approaching or if someone were in front of the garage which is not visible from indoors. I set up 2 sensors in the evening and all seemed well. At noon the next day, the sensors were continuously alerting, so I moved them. It was better for a while but then the continuous alarm started up again until I shut off the base. It seems that they are picking up signals from my gravel drive or grass or something when the sun hits. I did not experiment to find the farthest distance, but I confirmed that they will transmit at least 1/4 mile without perfect conditions, so that is comforting. I found that if I drive my side-by-side UTV (like an ATV) past the sensor at 15 mph, the sensor does not report. I will see if the lower sensitivity setting helps my false positives, otherwise I don't know what to do. I wish there were a different sensor option that would detect vehicles with metal so I did not have to depend on motion for some sensors, and could put those alongside or under the driveway. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wireless Add-On Motion Sensor This is an awesome way for comfort in your home or in your yard when you are the caregiving of a parent who is 87 years old, ailing with dementia. My Dad is able to remain in his home, familiar with his own surroundings and I have comfort in knowing if he passes one of the Motion Sensors where he is at and what he is doing. Each one can be programmed for what area it is assigned and I am notified by the number of beeps from the base unit in my home. Very inexpensive, easy to install and I would recommend this item highly with an overall rating of 5+++. May 2, 2011
