Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MND3268 Recommend Manuel Switch Unit
Previously had remote unit went through 3 switches in a 2yr period. Manuel switch unit produces the same affect with the possibility of replacing a switch that is almost a $100.00 to replace. Champion coolers use to be made of a thicker grade a steel, only time will tell how long this will last before it rusts out. Because on the thinner material I coated the whole interior with a coating prior placing it in operation. Also recommend installing the water flushing pump versus using the drip water to help keep fresh water in the unit.
Highly recommend using a swamp cooler in the dryer climates this WC50 unit does just fine in my 2700 sq ft home in triple digit temps. Keeps my house in the 70`s.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FrugalFan Dropped my July bill 75 percent
I knew this was a little undersized for our home, but it fit in the budget and we hoped it would be enough. It's been fantastic.
We couldn't be happier with the performance. I installed a drain pump as well that empties the water every 8 hours and I think that has really made it great.
Our typical August bill is around $400; according to SCE this one will be $130.
Good cooling, great savings, little/no maintenance. Exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Buddy works perfectly
Ordered it on line, was delivered after reasonable time, had a professional install it, and it is working great! Yes I can recommend this one for a single wide mobile home or similar sized house. It may work well in a double wide mobile too. So far I havn't had to use the high speed setting!

This product is much quieter than my (much) older cooler. The rotary control dial is more cumbersome than push buttons would be. A baffle to close off the unit to outside air would be a good added feature; as currently designed, the unit allows outside air to blow into the house even when the unit is not running. I've also noted that the top of the cooler is concave, allowing rainwater to pool on top. I was pleased to pay about $100 less than a competing brand charged for a cooler with similar capacity.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Robbie Item Iwas looking for and Home Depot was able to deliver
Was looking for the item to put into my new greenhouse to help keep the heat down. Was told by a fellow grower and he told me about this one. He told me that it worked great. Was able to find it on the website and ordered it. The delivery was surprisingly very quick. Please with the shipping and quick delivery.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rk Great cooler!
This window cooler brings the temp in my apprx 1600 sq ft home down to between 69 - 82 degrees (distance from cooler) on 110 degree days. It's fully assembled but for overflow spout and was easy to mount. I have never had air-conditioning, nor wish to have it... evap coolers do great here in Az! The cost to buy one and run it, is but a quarter of the cost for most air-conditioners. I highly recommend this product!

Very easy to install, works well cooling home. Would reccommend to anyone wanting an evaporative cooler, Champion is the best made.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Coddfish No Problems Without Remote Control
Last time around Home Depot only sold the unit with the remote control. I highly recommend staying away from that unit. I had nothing but trouble with it. I read a review here where a customer couldn't figure out why his unit all of a sudden quit working - it's the remote control switch! The company quickly replaced the switch which quit working in 4 days. Rather than go through that again I asked for a regular switch and they accommodated me right away - their customer service is excellent. That unit was jinxed and only lasted 3 years. With this one I have had no problems and I recommend it.
