Answer:
This generator will work at high elevation. However, you will lose 3.5% of the generator's capacity for every 1,000 ft. above sea level. There is no high altitude jet for the 80cc engine used in this inverter.

Answer:
Depending on the size, which you did not mention, the answer is maybe, but probably not. If you have a 13.5k AC as many new small to medium sized RV's do, you will require 2 of these connected with the Parallel Operations Kit to power it. I opted for this method over the larger 3100 as it allows me to not lug around a 100lb generator when I know I won't need the AC.

Answer:
In order to run a common RV AC unit, you will need two of these generators running in parallel. Even most window AC units have a higher starting wattage than this generator can provide.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Generator Starts on the first pull, quiet, light weight and easy to setup. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bought 2 and Parallel Operation Kit - cautionary tail As the title states, I purchased two of these and the Parallel Operation Kit at the same time. Home Depot was amazing and beat their own estimated home delivery date by a full week. Quite literally they were on the porch the next day. This review is about quality control. CPE needs to take a hard look at theirs. Of the two gensets, one started right up after a couple pulls and has run flawlessly ever since. The other took four pulls, ran rough, and always sounded like it was cycling a load every few seconds. It did, however, accept a load and the inverter worked fine. Had I only purchased one, possibly like many of you, this story would have ended there with me not being satisfied with the rough idol, but using it anyway since it worked. My problems surfaced when I connected the Parallel Operations Kit. The first genset handled it just fine, but the second one would show an overload condition and not produce power. Since taking it back to Home Depot would entail the major pain in the butt of draining all of the fluids, I decided to compare the two gensets. What I noticed was that the choke on the good one was smooth to pull and had a half click bump and a full choke stop. The one that didn't run well was harder to pull and only pulled out about half an inch. Taking the backs off of the two units allowed me to see the issue, and this is where I cut CPE QA no slack. It was totally obvious that the choke was not releasing fully, creating the rough idol and inability to sync with the first unit.. I had a concern that there wasn't enough choke wire to fix the problem as the wire was clearly cut to length during manufacturing after setting the choke. There was, however, just barely enough. I loosened the choke wire nut and the choke sprung back to open. Once I tightened it back down and put everything back together, the generator fired up and ran smoothly. I reconnected the Parallel Operations Kit and they synced right up and are currently running quietly in the back yard. Lesson to be learned; if you have a Champion generator and it runs rough, make sure that the choke is actually set properly. One thing to make sure of before you loosen the choke nut, check that you have at least a half inch or more of visible wire and make sure to push the choke fully in. This will ensure that the wire doesn't get pulled out of the nut and require you to push it back in. March 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Buy This generator was started right out of the box, just add the oil and gas pulled once and it was good to go. Use it to power lights while calving. February 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Adequate for use. Will use generator on occasion. Could not justify purchasing expensive Honda that would sit on shelf and only be used for emergency power for traffic control flagger lighting. Generator only ran 3.5 hours straight with full tank of gas. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am excited and glad to have bought this product. The performance and power is amazing with just less noise and less gas that can last hours. I used it for field hobbies and emergencies when there is no power available. I would recommend this to everyone. I'd like to purchase a second one to daisy chain its additional power chain. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Used this Generator while "boon-docking" in GSMNP. Worked well. Charged the camper batteries, Powered my satellite system and Mr. Coffee. It was just as quiet as my neighbors more expensive 2000 watt generator. September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome! The generator came with simple instructions and oil was included in the package. In about five minutes I had it unpacked and filled with oil and gas. It started on the first half pull and has continued to do so. It is very quiet. I use it for powering a small travel trailer and can run all interior lights, a TV and either the AC or microwave. Delivery was great. It arrived on my doorstep in 3 days. So far this purchase has exceeded all of my expectations. I am now considering buying a second one with the parallel cable to use at the house in an emergency. July 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Still testing, great design. I used the inverters for around 15 hours recently and overall like the performance with the exception of getting the inverters to sync. Using instructions to the tee, I still had problems getting the inverters to sync. Once they were in sync, I was able to run micro wave and air conditioner. It was really cold where I was so that may have been a factor, that and the high altitude. May 9, 2013
