Econ mode idling is listed at 53dba on the Amazon site. I've had it running next to Yamaha and Honda units and it's on par with them. We run 1 to several fans off the unit and they are louder than the generator!! Hasn't been enough draw to take it off econ idle mode yet..
I haven't seen anybody listing a full power dba rating. I've got a dba meter on order for another job and if I remember I'll update

Answer:
This generator will work at high elevation. However, you will lose 3.5% of the generator's capacity for every 1,000 ft. above sea level. There is no high altitude jet for the 80cc engine used in this inverter.

Answer:
Depending on the size, which you did not mention, the answer is maybe, but probably not. If you have a 13.5k AC as many new small to medium sized RV's do, you will require 2 of these connected with the Parallel Operations Kit to power it. I opted for this method over the larger 3100 as it allows me to not lug around a 100lb generator when I know I won't need the AC.

Answer:
In order to run a common RV AC unit, you will need two of these generators running in parallel. Even most window AC units have a higher starting wattage than this generator can provide.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 44 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed satisfaction with Champion Service I have a Champion 3500/400 W generator I have had for about 5 years now with excellent reliability. Hence my decision to try 2- 2000W Inverter generators with the parallel adaptor (less weight to carry). When they arrived one started right away and the other was damaged from shipping (fuel tank & petcock & things shifted around). I called Champion and they said would ship needed parts to me and I could fix it, I was ok with that. The parts arrived quickly and I repaired it as required and it worked fine; This is the good review.... Now the bad. After the other generator started fine the first time but not start again no matter what I tried after that, and that was with Champion on the phone trying different things. They DID NOT want the unit shipped back to them NO MATTER WHAT,, this I found out after 2 months of playing middle man with them and the shop THEY said to take it to. I and the repair shop were so fed up with them and their refusal to exchange the generator and insistence on keep trying different "fixes".. Well after over 2 months in the shop, the shop said they were done with dealing with Champion and Champion then told me in no uncertain terms they WOULD NOT LET me exchange the unit back to them. I was told to go to who I got it from. Well thank goodness it was with Home Depot that I ordered it thru as they took care of everything and were really stand up about backing something they sell. When you open the generator box there are large printed letters on paperwork to not contact seller but DEAL WITH CHAMPION ITSELF.... After my experience, I have very little faith in Champion if there is any problem with a product that the BUYER cannot repair themselves... They ABSOLUTLY REFUSE to take back a defective product from a customer, but will do everything else thru you.. Home Depot made it all well thru their excellent customer service, thank you Home Depot October 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great item Was looking for a quiet and inexpensive(I'm cheap) generator. Good friend has a Yamaha and this is on par with the sound level. The fan we use at events is louder than the generator!! After quite a bit of checking and a couple returns this unit fits the bill. Accurate description on the web about it and easy to operate. Added the oil(funnel supplied), fuel and started 2nd pull.. After using many times it's still firing right up.. Also great with the fuel shut-off so you can run the carb dry with this crud Ethanol usage. I highly recommend Sta-Bil, Sea Foam or a similar product even for normal usage. Thanks EPA <-- not. Great Product with FREE delivery to the house.. Thanks Home Depot ! ! ! September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Champion generator This generator is so quiet you hardly know that it's there. Very well built machine. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great generator This is my second Champion generator, I believe this generator is a lot more quiet than my first. October 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just bought after days of research Like many of you reading this, I spent hours deliberating between several small generators: Honda, Yamaha, generac, and others. Pretty much everywhere I went I found largely good reviews on these-- with some bad ones mixed in. Since I am not using these but a few times per year I decided to take the risk and spend HALF the money on these I would have on Hondas. In most of the bad reviews the units seemed to be dead on arrival. So I held my breath as I opened the boxes, added gas and oil. A few pulls later both fired right up, ran strong, and quiet-- especially very quiet in Eco mode. Now, I will need to field test them under load but they seem to be strong little units for the budget-minded user. My only gripe is the same one I have already heard-- why not making changing the oil easier? Have to tip the unit on its side, likely making a large mess! October 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressed Bought this to incase I needed it to help when I helped out with flood relief efforts in Baton Rouge. As it turns out, I did not need it, but now I will use it camping, RVing and for emergency prop. The machine is quite, starts easy, and is very portable. I am impressed with the quality. Much better value than other major brands. October 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome generator I was comparing this to the Honda EU2000i. I am glad I chose the champion. They are both equal as far as noise goes and the champion is half the price. The champion also seems to be built with the same attention to detail and quality. September 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Purchased it for work. It's light weight and not loud. Great price for a great product. August 16, 2016
