Customer Questions & Answers

Will this work with 10,000 champion

Asked by: Batman
It will, but this cord will only provide up to 3,600 watts or 120V at 30A. For your machine, you should use the 240V extension cord that will provide you two 120V 30A circuits for 7,200 total watts.

The product specs indicate 120-volt cord, but the box it comes in says 125-volts. Which is it, or does it make any difference?
Asked by: newguy
It does not make any difference. It is typical for electrical wiring to be rated for up to 125V. That doesn't change anything. You are still using a 120V system with a proper 120V extension cord.

I have a Champion 3100 power inverter model 75531l will this cord fit my 30 amp connector or does it require a adaptor, I'm confused with all the answers, thank for some help.
Asked by: andre
Your model 75531i has a TT-30 which is an RV style receptacle. This extension cord is a L5-30 which is a different format. These two connections both supply 120V at 30A but you will need an adapter to plug this extension cord into the generator.

25 ft is not very long. Is it ok to run an additional extension cord from one of the three outlets to a refrigerator?
Asked by: Steve
Steve, it's always best to purchase ONE cord for the job you need, ensuring it will carry the amperage capacity required. Yes, you can connect similar cords for length...but keep in mind Ohms Law about resistance; the longer the cord, the more resistance to be overcome and the hotter the cord gets; reducing the available power at the user end. I've seen users attempt to plug a light-weight 150' light-bulb cord into a large capacity generator and then stand there looking foolish when their circuit breaker pops. Ensure you know the specs of the generator you're using and it will usually lay out how much cord length and amperage is acceptable for its electrical output capacity. Hope this helps. JCH

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incorrect Plug This expensive extension cord will not fit the new Champion 3,400W Inverter Generator I just purchased from Home Depot (HD). Moreover, HD does not provide an adapter for it (either locally or on-line). Very surprised that HD does not state in its advertising that an adapter is necessary. Unfortunately, no adapter is available from any local retailer or on-line supplier that will work with this (China) product and I wasted the better part of a full day attempting to run one down. I contacted HD Customer Service and advised them of this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product as described on the Home Page The price at Home Depot was Lower than anybody else. The power cord is an essential accessory if you own a generator. This cord allows you to add three more 120-volt outlets to your generator which allows more appliances to operate in an emergency situation.
