Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved my family when Sandy came to town... First, like a lot of other folks, I never really gave much thought about owning a generator, until Sandy showed up. I was like everyone else, no power for 2 days before Home Depot got a shipment of these and smaller Generac models. I snatched this up, and rushed home to see if it would do what was needed. Within 20 minutes of me getting home, it was putting out power and making me very happy. It powered 2 fridges, central heat blower, a chest freezer, 2 plasma TVs, a few lights, PlayStation 3, blu-ray player, microwave,. with most of my house being powered from this genny, it didn't go over 80%.. incredible! ! Runs strong and doesn't miss a beat, Includes oil, funnel, spark plug tool, and a very stout 25ft 30 amp 4 receptacle extension cord December 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great generator Lost power 1st day of hurricane sandy waited 4 hours at Home Depot for generators to come in this unit was well worth the price it powers my whole house. November 2, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality Product Started immediately when first trying it. Runs smooth, and does not seem to be straining as I've heard with other generators. Loud, but not crazy loud as I've heard with others also. Built solid, and is quite heavy (a good thing) but moves with ease with the pivot wheels, and stays in place when running at top end. If the price stays lower than the competitors as it has been, I would say this is a good value for the money you'll pay, in comparison. December 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So Far, So Good! After procrastinating for a long time buying a back-up power supply, and having two recent outages in a row, I did some reviewing and comparisons and decided on this generator. Three days after I received it we had another outage from a thunderstorm which lasted all night and most of the next day. The generator fired right up and performed flawlessly and provided the power necessary. If you purchase this generator, I recommend several things.. A. Have some help unloading it, as it is quite heavy B. Take the battery and put it on a charger before using it. Don't assume it is already charged. Mine was, but I put the charger on for 8 hours and had no issues with it working. C. Follow the instructions for installing the wheels . It was pretty simple. D. Don't forget to put the oil in the crankcase and add some fuel in the fuel tank so the unit is ready right away if it is needed, as mine was. This generator is a solid unit and appears to be well-made. Time and use will tell , but at this point I am a satisfied customer. This unit has sufficient power to handle most of the basic things needed to get by in a house when the power goes out, including a domestic water well , two refrigerators, a freezer, the wife's T.V. and all the lights. We had a small issue with using a large microwave, but we waited until the fridge was not runniing, and it seemed to work o.k. I feel it is fair value for the price and is a lot less expensive than similar units of more advertised"name brands". August 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I found the item about $200 cheaper at BJ's I found the same item at BJ's for around $600 after I paid $911.15 plus shipping at Home Depot. The advertisement stated that there would be free shipping. After a call to Home Depot, they said they would refund the shipping costs back onto my credit card. Following the instructions, I prepped the generator and started it up. It ran excellently. I have yet to use it for which I bought it (blackouts), since the main power has not been interrupted.
