In the past I had jobs around the house were I needed the larger size pliers, but had none around. No sooner did I purchase these pliers then a couple of things broke down that required these pliers. I had no problems with them. The handle was easy to grip, and did not hurt my hand while using. The pliers were able to grip without sliding off the object they were gripping. I did not have to use an old rag to prevent the pliers from slipping off. Grip was good on small objects, and larger sized objects. I call my orders in to Home Depot.com. As usual the ordering process was a breeze. The order arrived earlier then anticipated.

I previously owned the same channel lock plier for 3 years. I loaned it and haven't seen it since(probably they fell in love with it too). I decided to go with the brand.

These are absolutely the BEST pliers of their type on the market. I have used these in my previous profession (Plumber/Pipefitter), and there is a reason most in these professions call them channel locks or "Chans". Many others manufacturers offer a similar product, but they simply fail to compare. In smaller sizes, they are wonderful for turning nuts and bolts since they are a "one size fits all" within their size range. These are model 420, and can easily be used to tighten threaded pipe in the "Up to 3/4" size range. They also come in other sizes (430, 410, and 426's from larger to smaller), and a much larger pair (I forget the number) that are wonderful for tightening the nut on the toilet tank flush valve. Just remember to orient them as you would a pipe wrench. They can be used "backward" but your hand will tire quickly and most will not be able to achieve proper tightness.

Purchased online to replace missing channel locks. Angle in jaw is super useful on old rusty nuts. Provides plenty of gripping power.
