Answer:
There is no back panel. It's just open. Cheaper to make that way. The portion of the grill where the heat is produced is black, and you can see that from the front, sides and back.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Piece of Junk We bought this grill four years ago. The flame deflectors were trash within two years, the tray in the bottom of the grill is all but burnt thru and the burners are not affixed to the grill (screws burnt thru). Not only is the grill made cheap but after the first year the exterior looked like cheap junk...we purchased the "grill cleaner" by Char-Broil and I did just as instructed but after spending an afternoon cleaning it, within a month or two it looked as bad as it originally had. I contacted char broil as this was advertised as "commercial" and I was instructed this was just steel not stainless and "at that price that is what you get". Nice, eh???? November 9, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Less than 4 years and it's junk This grill has a lot bells and whistles for it's price range, but it's certainly not built to last. The nickel plated finish started coming off after the first winter. After 2 years the electronic ignitor went out, and now after 4 years the burners have rusted through along with the rest of it and the pop welds are busting at the seams just from simply moving it around the yard. This grill was taken care of, covered, and stored for bad weather. It's just not compatible with the Pacific NW. June 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DONT BUY THIS I have a 3 year old "commercial" style Charbroil 4 burner model. reviews at time I bought it were good. after 3 summers its now junk. the grills are rusted and broken, cross overs need replacing as do the flame "tamers" problem is, I just noticed the main brackets holding the tamers are shot. They are part of the main housing. Guess after 3 years its TOAST. spend $ 200 replacing parts or send it to the junk yard??? what a waste...... August 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The grill provides very good burner output and is solid in comparrison to other equally priced grills. The overall product is a good value, customer service is great as usual but this is only avalible for direct home delivery and you will pay high shipping charges plus a days work to put it together. The construction is rigid compared to other grills of the same price as the doors and grill cover do not flex as easily. Also, the amount of heat delivered quickly is nice for getting the party started. June 22, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I bought this cuz it had the stainless cooking grates that only come on the $850 Weber. The grates are the only decent part of this grill! It has uneven heat and flares up easily. Grease pan is too small & poorly designed. It's rusted away & useless after 3 years. Now I have to buy the Weber. Maybe the grates will fit the new grill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Grill I have owned this grill for 6 years, it has never failed. I only have fill the 5 gal. propane bottle once in the beginning of summer and it will last all year long and it will get me through the winter. I grill almost every week end. If not grilling IM smoking. This has been a great grill. I would buy this grill again, except they make replacement parts if needed. August 16, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by piece of junk After 3 years this thing is a worthless piece of junk. The inside is completely rusted out, even parts that can't be replaced. And it was in a screened in porch and covered and it still rusted out. The worst part is this my second one I've bought! The first one, I neglected, but this one I took care of it and it still rusted. Shame on me. February 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Super when new. Heats quickly, evenly, grilling surface excellent quality Burning element rusted out in less than 2 years. I paid about 2 times normal price of other grills at the time for the grill, being told it was worth the investment. Stainless/porcelain cooking surface super at first. Now has sat for over a year with burnt out element, rusted through in less than 2 years. Very disappointing. July 11, 2012
