Do the store put grill together when they arrive?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, if you have it delivered, you assemble it yourself. You should ask your local store if they offer assembly in store or if you would like to buy a display, those come already assembled (as long as you have a way to take it home assembled).

Classic Full-Size Charcoal Grill is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sucks Very disappointed. The hood does not seal to the tub letting smoke out. There is no way to adjust the air flow. What were they thinking when they designed this grill?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit dissapointed.. For the amount of money I spent... I thought I was getting a top notch grill! Assembly was simple, easy instructions and material seems like its built to last. However, where the hinge is welded... it was welded to high on box that holds charcoal, this creates a 1/4" gap that will let out all the heat. This was the only "major issue" I had with this grill. Doesn't seem like there was any type of quality control done (in China) on this one grill that was unfortunately sent to me.. oh well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from if its anything like the old one, top notch I've been trying to get parts for my Mod #220A which is the same grill from 1956. It's had more than a ton on meat cooked on it. The top grates still have some life in them. I don't know why it's rusting away. Like I said it's 60 years old. And since I seen the new replacement I will buy it soon. I'm the 3rd owner of this grill as I was only 5 years old at the time. It was purchased by Uncle Al Zbin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solidly built It was difficult for us to put it together because the lid is so heavy. Whereas the cooking surface is big, the charcoal grate does not cover the entire under surface, so there can be some cooler areas on the cooking surface. It does not have the keep warm rack that many grills have, and we needed that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Engineering problems Overall the grill will be as good as the old model after I modify it. Casters that came with unit were not heavy enough for its weight. I installed another pair of large wheels. Unit doesn't draft well, air circulation is at the back of the box, consumes to much charcoal to fast. Fire grate does not cover enough of the area under the grates. Old fire box design was far superior. I extend to have a fire grate made like the old design. I am going to seal the cover to cooker with a gasket and install adjustable air vents to control the fire. I had my original CB940 for almost 15 years and it was great unit. With this units heavy metal construction, and the modifications I plan to make it should cook well and last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality, versatile bbq pit We owned one of these years ago. After many years of use it had to be retired. We then bought an offset smoker/grill to replace but it never was easy to control temperature, etc. with the offset and we never liked it as well as the old Char-broil. The Char-Broil is very heavy duty & durable. Temperature control is very good. The adjustable charcoal grates can be raised & lowered which is a big help. The set up is a little bit of a hassle but be sure to follow the instructions concerning the seasoning of the cast iron cooking grates and keep the ash tray cleaned after each use: this will help prevent rusting (applies to any pit). This is a grill and NOT a smoker although indirect cooking is easy with this pit. I would recommend this grill. It can put out some great grub!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gift ever! I purchased this grill as a Father's Day gift for my husband and he can't stop telling people about his new toy! The grill is made with great material. It is heavy and very stable. The two cutting boards that go on either side of the grill are beautiful. Once they've been rubbed with mineral oil for a week the beautiful grain of the wood is more visible. The cast iron grates are awesome because they give steaks that awesome pattern found in many steak houses. The grill keeps its temperature very well, too! The fact that one can add coal without having to uncover the entire grill is great when slow cooking. I would definitely recommend this grill to a friend.
