No need to season the grill plates. They are porcelain covered. Just clean occasionally and after heating up the grill, before placing food on the grill, spray with PAM or PAM like cooking spray.
Enjoy!!

Answer:
if your grill has a clean selection, then you will want to clean and burn off any extra dust from the grates. do this for about 15 minutes. when your ready to grill, spray your grates with cooking spray( trust me it makes a difference), turn you desired setting, and grill on. I love my grill and it is so easy to use. Just always remember to clean before and after to make the clean up easier.

Answer:
The cook surface is powder coated and needs no seasoning, the IR reflector (the pan in the bottom) needs a 30 minute burn in at medium temp after that it is ready for food. Make sure to use polished edge tools not cheap stamped tools to preserve the powder coat (treat it like you would a Teflon pan.

Answer:
To best season the grill we recommend using canola oil. Apply canola oil to the cooking grates and turn the grill to high for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Seasoning the cooking grates will add a protective layer that will keep help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust.

My smoker has the cast iron and they tend to rust quickly. Unless after cooking and letting them cool you clean and coat in oil. Even covered they will rust. I have never had the rust issue on my porcelain grates

Most grill grate's are cast iron. The porcelain coating protects the iron and makes cooking and cleaning easier. A needed option and most come with the porcelain coating. I would not want a grill that did not have the porcelain coating.

I have had grills with each type of grid. I don't really see any difference in the cooking but the maintenance on the porcelain grids is a little higher because you can't use the steel wire cleaners on them.

Porcelain coated are very remarkable. It's like a no stick pan, coat with spray and your food won't stick. Advantages of cast iron with holding the temp with a non stick feature. Cleans up very easily too.

Answer:
Yep, it is just like your oven's self-clean.
This baby will crank up the gas and heat up all the various drippings and such so that they cook off. It is excellent. After I let it cool down, I follow up with a brief scrapping to clear any leftovers.

Sone models do. Works like a self-cleaning oven on extrene heat. I wash my grills in warm soapy water but to clean the bottom pan the theory is that the debris burns off. It does that to a certain degree when cooking. If the model does not have a timer for the clean cycle be sure you set a timer for the recommended time.

This Char-Broil Gourmet 3-Burner TRU-Infrared Grill does not have the self cleaning feature. However, it can utilize the burnoff technique. This is where the grill is turned to high for about 20 minutes and burns off any food or grease. Any remaining food particles can then be wiped off. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No flare-ups!!! Since this grill was a Christmas gift, I couldn't take advantage of Home Depot's free assembly. My girlfriend loves to grill, and a new propane grill was on her gift wish list. Assembly was straight forward for anyone with a minimal tools and experience. We've used the grill for burgers, hot dogs, steak, and chicken and NO nasty flare-ups. The electronic ignition module was cracked and broke along the threaded shaft that goes thru the side of the grill, but Char-Broil sent us a replacement within 7 days. January 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete garbage This grill lasted barely a year, even with following all instructions. Cleaning the infrared burners EVERY time and burning off and oiling the grill. The cheap stainless infrared burners disintegrated in 13 months. CharBroil will gladly sell you new ones for $50 a piece. Total Garbage. Buy a Weber April 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good grill.... But .... PROS: Love the way this grill cooks. Truly without flare ups, and meats are more juicy for sure. CONS: Start wires loose, always have to jiggle the wires to start the burners. Black Lettering and markings around the controls quickly wear off - and are gone. This is on a grill kept under a porch! Now 18 months later - no markings for the controls. I can work the grill (from memory), but anyone else would be guessing. My older model had a thermometer on the hood. After 18 months it stopped working, when cold it reads 450, and starts going from up there when turned on. Thermometer temps are now off by 450 degrees. April 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Grill, Great Price - arrived damaged This grill is the best bang for your buck. Lots of cooking space and gets real hot - 500 + degrees F. Mine came damaged. The actual part where you cook was a bit warped so when I put the side on without the burner it does not sit flush. Since it is that main part that is damaged I assumed they would want a full return, since I did shipping NO WAY was I covering shipping, so I will just live with it for a few years. Next grill is a Weber, even if I need to buy less of a grill. My fault for wanting the most grill for less money. I do not regret the purchase just upset about the damage and even more upset about not complaining about it...(that last part is on me). April 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank You Home Depot I can't truly rate the grill until my family and I use the grill in the spring time, but it made my dad (who has esophageal cancer) very happy - a great Christmas gift for him! Home Depot helped my brother and I make my father's Christmas truly special - they allowed us to bring the grill, boxed, home to wrap, and then bring it back for assembly. Thank you so much!! January 19, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible rust problem I bought the 4 burner version of this grill about 2 years ago as a gift for my husband. It started to rust almost immediately even though we kept it covered and under a porch roof. The grates are now almost completely rusted through and the grill looks much worse than my previous 7 year old Weber. Char broil obviously knows about the problem as it has discontinued most of its RED grills. Char broil refused to replace or repair any parts (only one year warranty). Do yourself a favor; spent the extra money and buy a Weber. November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEST GAS GRILL EVER!! I am very impressed with the overall performance of this grill. I converted it to run on natural gas with the kit I purchased from Home Depot. Highly recommend this grill. August 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A very cool and reliable grill!!! This Grill is exactly what i was looking for. It is easy to maintain, i like the pan where all the grill dirt falls in which is easy to clean. The heat gets spread great and is easy to control. This was the right choice for our purpose. Absolutley a recommendation from me! Well done! July 1, 2014
